Voting cold because of your effort.

What would you like the op to do?

Post a picture of them modelling the cables in an erotic manner while listening to Barry Manelow?

Very cold, how is this a deal??

£3.99 on Prime gets you these at normal price, I’ve used them for over a year and they’re great. They’ll be through your door tomorrow, and are nearly half the price.

You can't compare Anker with these brands. Plus you are quoting micro USB cables, whereas these are USB C cables.

Why can’t you compare brands? They both do EXACTLY the same job.

Fair enough, here is a USB C twin pack, 6ft, braided.

My point is that there are a lot of cheaper cables, I have bought a variety of different ones for different devices, all costing between 69p and £2 each, and they are all still working perfectly, no problems whatsoever. I linked the first set, because I’ve had them the longest and can personally vouch for their durability. I have full confidence in the others.

These are rubbish, the shroud comes unglued and the cable lasts all of 10 seconds.

I can't get purpose of these arguments. These are good if you want these brands. If someone wants Anker, this is good price. Peace.

B-but they tied a car tyre up with a cable so it must be military grade.

The purpose of this site is for people to save money. Wasting money by paying double for something that has a (not even good) brand name is ridiculous. You don’t like these comments because you know I’m right. There is absolutely no way that this ‘brand’ of cable is any better than all the other ones that cost half as much. And you know it.
Is this a powerline+ cable?

Yup you are right, you win. Let's end it here.
seem expensive nearly £8 just for twin cables, should't be more then £4-ish c cable been out ages, its just cables to charge nothing special probly cost pennies to make
Agree I picked up a set of 4 , red usb to type c usb and paid £5 from amazon this week.
All usb c cables should be usb 3.0
Dunno why they make these usb 2.0 ones

They SHOULD do exactly the same job, but some do not. Here is one article that explains why cables matters: theverge.com/201…rds

"Right now, if you aren’t very careful, a USB-C cable can destroy your laptop. If you just go to Amazon and buy any pack of USB-C cables you find, you could end up with a wire that can destroy your machine in a flash."

Also USB type C cables are more expensive than micro USB is because the circuits are significantly more complex. Hope this helps.

Absolute rubbish, sorry! Your article, (about cables from 4 years ago!) is one unreliable source telling people to buy expensive cables, for no logical reason.

As I have said, I have bought 10 cheap amazon cables (2 micro USB, 4 older iPhone, and 4 lightning) and all work with no problems at all. One outdated scaremongering article (funded by who knows?) does not mean cheap cables don’t work. All mine do.

Not reliable enough?...fine...here you go
theguardian.com/tec…ble
(PAMco rated The Guardian 1# most trustworthy newspaper in the UK)

It's true that this one is also four years old and things might have changed, but the dangers were initially there and most probably they still are if you buy stuff from elsewhere other than Amazon. As I said micro USB cables are really simple, you could probably buy one from China for a quid and they would do fine, but doing the same with a USB C cable might cost you your device.

And I’m saying.... I’ve bought many, many of them and haven’t had a device blow up yet, neither have the tens of thousands of people that have left positive reviews for these cheap cables on Amazon. Stop believing everything that paid journalists tell you.

Also, I HAVE been talking about Amazon cables. I haven’t said to buy from elsewhere.

You saying “most probably still are” shows you are reaching, and that you have no personal experience in this, but still think you know better than people that have bought these cables. Amazing.

By the way, saying “#1 most trusted newspaper in the UK” is ridiculous. It’s like saying that a liar is the most honest liar. They’re still a liar.

It is a news source, not a fact source. If it bleeds, it leads. No news is good news.

There are billions of leads sold across the globe every year, that all work fine. Could this journalist write about “all these cables that all work reasonably”? No. Does one faulty cable cause an issue with one phone? Yeah, that’s now a news story. It’s not the whole picture is it.

I assume you never drive a car, because you know what, sometimes they crash and some people die. Therefore you shouldn’t drive a car?

Cheap cables work. These “Anker” cables are overpriced, and it’s not a deal. Simple.
