Would not recommend, does not support USB-PD, this product supports 5V@3A only, so will not quickly charge anything

Well said. Choetech usb c charger similar to this only sells for around £5 on Amazon . Excess power /heat can shorten your battery life. Power delivery and quick charge prevent excess charging when device is fully charged by reducing the power delivered to the device.

So better to use a QC socket than a regular USB socket? How about if the USB socket is on an older lower power USB charger?

I was asking if it is better to use a QC charger or a charger which for instance came with a mobile years ago? Older (I suppose people can still buy similar lower powered non QC) chargers which are DC5V and having something in the range of 0.5A to 2A output. Will using a QC charger always be best; even for products which don't have QC? My understanding is there are safeguards and QC is backwards compatible with non QC products.

I, like others, have a range of chargers I have had for years and newer QC chargers. Just wondering which is best to use; or whether it depends what device I am charging; as to which charger is best to use in that instance.

QC chargers are bad.

Power Delivery chargers are good, as they run absolutely zero risk of damaging your hardware

If you have items that don't use any fast charging protocol, you're best getting a 5V/2.4A charger, and using that

Thanks.

I have a Blackberry charger I got via a deal on here a few years ago. Never owned a Blackberry phone but the charger is a great 5V 2.XA charger for charging mobiles and tablets.

I think a new Topvork charger I recently purchased may well have pd and qc. It even came with a USB c to USB a adapter.

Is it the Blackberry Playbook charger with ~2m integrated Micro USB?

A charger shouldn't have both PD and QC, the PD spec prohibits QC because it damages hardware

The Blackberry charger does have an integrated micro USB which has yellowaround the outside of the micro USB.

This charger is similar to the one I have:

Yep, that's the Playbook charger, I used to have half a dozen of them but they all slowly died on me

That Topvork charger doesn't seem to know what it is, they mention both QC3.0 and PD, but the two cannot coexist like that
