Anker is a great brand. So many nameless ones on Amazon for not much less and who knows how safe. Often the dual port plugs are cheaper than the single ones for some reason

This is 12W only. You will charge at full speed (2.4A) only if it's just one device plugged, with 2 it will charge slower.

So the most basic one, looking for good deal on two USB with QC 3.0 and can find any good price.

To be honest, I am surprised the Anker qualcomm 3 charger has not went below £10, usually they are on sale, just have to wait.

Only that they make great cases, it went on sale about a month ago for £7.99 or something, but what concerned me was that some of the reviews said that some of the plastic earth pins were snapping
bought this plug last week and it's great for the price, very impressed
Does USB plug matter for charging or is it just the wire that's the main component for fast charging?

I've just noticed I'm using my Sony Ericsson usb charger which I've had for maybe 12+ years
Can this be used to charge Ipads? And Android tablets/phones? Simultaneously?

It's a dual charger, can't see why it can't charge two different things simultaneously

Each USB A outlet is capable of a maximum of 12 W output only regardless of if you’re using one or both outlets (The 2.4 A refers to the total of the device so 24 W split by the two ports is 12 W)

This isn’t as simple a question as it seems:
• It’s the power adapter and the relevant SoC both that enables fast charging - You need both for it fast charging to be realised
• For iPhones 8 and above fast charging only works with pre-approved USB C to lightning cables. The lightning adapter is proprietary so Apple provides licences to 3rd parties if they want to enable fast charging. iPhones will detect non-certified cables and fast charging will not work
• On the other hand for regular Qualcomm QC and Power Delivery (Bar iPhones as described above) any cables will do (I.e. Not OEM is fine)

You can charge whatever you like with it simultaneously - Both will charge pulling a maximum of 12 W each (So not enough for fast charging)

I thought your device will adjust its input requirements automatically anyway....

Sometimes it is both however the mains plug is generally more important. You can often use the same wire on a normal USB mains plug and get normal charging speeds and that same wire on a fast charging mains plug you'll get fast charging.
There are also times where the cable won't fast charge even when using a fast charging mains plug.

"PowerIQ" always makes me laugh, yes it's 100% just the standard USB feature which all chargers/devices must do. I think people just worry about damaging their item with the wrong charger, so Anker have made this up.
Nice price, top quality! Thanks!
Power!
2.4 Amps isnt enough for 2 devices unless they are both small/old tech. Modern smartphones usually take at least 1.9 amps by themselves. But for charing 1 device, you should be fine.

Not many people know that when William Anker set up his company, he intended using his first name's initial followed by his surname. Having led a somewhat sheltered existence, William couldn't understand why friends persuaded him to use only his surname.

Considering it uses proprietary hardware I think that's somewhat unlikely.

What “proprietary hardware” makes this happen??? All usb device’s requests the maximum charge they currently want, all charges then only deliver up to this maximum request, it’s called a handshake, and it’s a basic part of “usb”.

Interesting, may just get a new USB plug then. I've got fast charging wires but old usb plugs that aren't usb 3.0
Good find

It's crap charger I have one here, when you try to pull it out the top bit come out, while rest stays in socket, also maximum charge speed is half then my mi9 and p30 pro or OnePlus 6 chsrgers
Can someone advise how this compares to Anker’s 4 port charger they do for around £9.50?
Trusted brand
These are garbage. I had 2 of the 4 port version which both stopped working within 6 months.
