Keep an eye on the price of cars at Amazon as they reduced the price twice recently.
    this is getting better!!
Perfect. Was debating getting this for my son just this morning. This makes the decision. Ordered. Thanks.
Excellent price and brilliant toy for anyone 4 years or older.
Amazon will pay back the difference if you already ordered it with them.

I ordered and received mine around 5/6 weeks ago from Amazon (DE in this case) - will Amazon as a whole still honour a refund of the difference?

    Just wondered/hoped - many thanks
    Well spotted. Thanks!
3 minutes on the amazon live chat and got a £30 refund. Cheers OP. Only ordered it 3 days ago!
Also being price matched by Argos
does this have longevity, or will it get boring pretty quickly?
Nice find, have some heat :O)
Cracking deal, I paid ten pound more via Flubit some weeks ago. If returns wasnt such a hassle i'd send it back and buy it at this price. still unopened as its the boys xmas prezzie.
Got my refund from Amazon as well as only ordered a couple of days ago. Anyone buying this who is hoping to try tablets/phones not on the official supported devices list but meet the minimum requirements contact Anki Support and tell them and they will send you a link to download the app and ask you to be a beta tester for your device basically. I'm hoping it will work on the HUDL 2 but won't know until Christmas Day but have 3 other devices on the compatibility list to fall back on if need be. I really hope the cars fall in price too so I can add to the collection.

How is this different to slot cars? Does it use magnetic track to keep cars on the path/track? I dont know much about these..

I think it scans the track first using AI so it knows where the track limits are.

Looks good, my boy is saving up for it.

No magnets, the cars can 'see' the track so know when to turn. You control speed and can steer (though it's really more changing between 'lanes') as well as managing offensive and defensive weapons. Also have the option for cars to be controlled by AI drivers so can always have a full grid racing. Think of it as mixing the top tier 'digital' slot car systems which let you change lanes (though only at specified points, Anki is much more flexible) with a video game like Mario Kart. Heck it's even price comparable to those system, decent Scalextric cars can be £40 or more and a similar set to the Anki starter set is around £100. Oh, and as the Anki system doesn't need to carry current the track is much more flexible so can be easily propped up to do multilayer courses and can even be split to form jumps if you want.
Looks awesome. The only off-putting aspect is after they have lured you in with a £120 price point for starters, additional cars are £50 each! oO Along with the other accessory prices and upgrades!

Also, looks like my 6 year old sons (hand me down) iPhone 4 isn't compatible either

Anki is great, but the big problem is support for mobile devices (and the need to own them in the first place). You'll find many phones aren't supported by the app.

This is me talking about the original Anki: youtube.com/wat…9qY

And a look at Overdrive (from the same channel): youtube.com/wat…DQM
