Yes so from Amazon, for the same price as yours, you also get the Habitat. Which makes the Argo's one not a good deal.

Unless you want it today without habitat.

I've read that servers will remain "monitored" until August 2021 - because your company has gone bust and you're not being paid to do so, of course you're going to monitor it :/

Sorry to be "that guy" but these will be a paperweight before you know it.

I saw that headline but there seems to be no evidence to support that date. I agree these could be a paperweight and we don’t know from when.
It really is worth Googling the hell out of these before you commit. There are no further updates available for these other than what's already there. These will not extend beyond their current programming. They will not do housework, make coffee or launch Skynet!

Are you Miles Dyson trying to fool us?
I saw this in CEX for £50, but I had heard that they had been discontinued. As it's not open source it will soon be a paperweight. I hate how technology relies on cloud services (look what happened to the Tesco Hudl - you don't realise how quick your device can become a paperweight when the cloud service disappears! There are rumours about NEST support disappearring too)
Bought for my daughter - bored with it within a couple of days. Genuinely wouldn't bother.........

Still use my hudl 2 sometimes when my usual tablet is charging.
Already posted with full details of Anki support, amazon warehouse deal (£59 with the 20% discount), mentions Argos deal. Read info and thread, might help some folk here with same queries :

Vector will still work without cloud and there is no reason why it would losr Alexa so it will not necessarily be a paper weight, also there is a strong vector owners community out there that will try to keep this robot operating one way or another, I would not want to pay £250 but for £80 It is worth a shot in my opinion, I think there will be many work arounds for this robot in the years to come that could me much better than what Anki would have provided anyway, and in 30 years time this robot will probably be a collectors item a lot like the Tomy robots from the 80s. I am getting one now why it is available as I believe this robot has a much more interesting future now Anki has gone under. reddit.com/r/A…ep/

Also keep in mind if Anki do pull the plug you have your 12 months warranty so can argue a refund as item no longer works as described, but by that time you will probably feel sorry for the little guy, remember " a vector robot is for life not just for Christmas "....

I went for the Amazon deal with the habitat at £79, should arrive tomorrow.
A good deal - I went warehouse for £59, just to take the pressure off little Vector

Vector will still function. Vector will still be able to explore, recognize faces, play with his cube, and be pet and snuggled in your hand. And hopefully the strong community of vector owners will get him back online, vector will live on one way or another, intact I think left to the community the robots future will be a lot more interesting and there will suddenly become a demand for used versions. reddit.com/r/A…ep/

I hear you - however given the history of these things it usually results in nothing - look at the previous examples I gave and they had a much larger user base! But hey - you hold out hope!

Arrived, looks in perfect condition! Not switched on yet, in the midst of work projects (he's a reward for when they're wrapped up and I can take the time - likely to be that happy lazy gap between Christmas and New year ).

I also have an invite link for a Vector discord group if anyone is interested. There seems to be many people there that are certainly more knowledgeable and tech savvy than I. I really hope that life can be breathed back into these guys. They are awesome. I have one myself... But the hands I've been dealt have made me a pessimist. Anyways, here's that link...
