Annual bumper sale @ Howdens Joinery

Found 22nd Oct 2013
Apparently Howdens is having their annual bumper sale. I'm looking around for a kitchen at the moment and Howdens are pitching their big sale in October, as the best time of the year to buy. Anyone know anything about this? Or is this the case every month?

trade only...

would be interested in more info on this, have a mate who can get trade and im looking to start my kitchen in the next few weeks

are details in store?

any idea on an end date?

actually its not trade only, they also sell to the public but open a trade account for you under your name, we purchased our kitchen from them a few years back, excellent quality... hot from me!

All of October, and it does make a difference. Still haggle, haggle, haggle, and don't give your budget.
Check everything on delivery, ensure order correct and nothing damaged. They are pre built carcasses so more danger of damage, in my opinion.
The trade thing may be correct, we knew a tradesman who used them and we were doing a self build. We were quoted 20k from B&Q with average worktop. Paid under 3k in this sale and ordered solid worktops on the web at a great price as they didn't do what I wanted. hope this helps.

I'm in the process of waiting for a quote and have been waiting now for 3 weeks! Doubt you'll get anything in the sale if you apply now at the busier outlets. Very disappointing as trying to get an idea for funding

My mate has trade account with them and usually gets 75% discount on cabinets so that's your haggling point from rrp prices....

Was this recently and, if so, do you have a link to the kitchen range?
How many units was it and am I right to presume this price excluded appliances.

I would imagine orders would have to be placed in October which doesn't leave much time.

Just had a Howdens kitchen fitted last week. Nothing but problems. Check measurements carefully ! Prices Change on a whim. I got a quote with Benchmarx then haggled, saved more than £2000 on their original quote & it was a cheap range. I would have used Benchmarx, they were good, but didn't want white inside the cupboards. Basically Howdens charge what they feel like ...

just finished my kitchen and ended up with homebase on their price promise. Howden's were the same (ish) as Wickes and homebase initially and they are pre-built, not flat; so seemed better value. However went to G&Q and they designed an identical kichen for nearly half price and then, after some serious conversations, Homebase matched it plus 10% of the diference. Howdens wouldn't budge. It also appears that if you are wanting one from them they first ask for your tradesman and they probably skim some cash off the top also.
