Ultimate Oomp £79 pm for 18 m + 16 bottle case from Virgin Wines worth £220 or £100 bill credit @ Virgin Media
Posted 21st Sep 2020

This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

Not as good as the previous offer, but Virgin are offering a £100 bill credit or 16 bottles of wine with their top broadband and TV packages, reducing to £50 or 6 bottles of wine for the smaller packages. They are also discounting the installation/activation costs which saves another £35, so a total saving of up to £135. Previously they were offering £200 bill credit and before that £150 bill credit but charging for installation.

Obviously go through topcashback £150 or quidco £155 for additional (not guaranteed) cashback.

Offers expires 27th September to be replaced with something else, probably!

Why is this cold?

Breakdown of what’s included may help for anyone who doesn’t know.

Hot deal from me
Virgin is a stingy company if they decide not to pay it's own suppliers you get cut off, no fault of the customer.Further more Richard Branson must be taking massive loyalties, despite not even living in the UK and paying tax. Virgin is a dying brand to say the least.
😳 HOW MUCH A MONTH.
Trust me, you're gonna need that wine...
The package is decent value for money if you need everything - phone/tv (sports & movies etc)/internet/mobile sim but the data speeds for the mobile sim are woeful - I struggle to get over 1 mbps much of the time. The 400Mbps home BB sounds great but I am 5 metres away from the router in the next room right now and I shall perform a speed test...hang on...

47.1 Mbps

I can only imagine it is called oomph as that is zero zero MPH

sounds like you have pants wifi... which is 100% unrelated to any router speed, and more to do with your home and the interference within.

And the mobile data speeds - is that my fault too?

Mobile data is again something different. The fibre cable is covered in shielding which means the speed to your router will likely be closer to what your package speed is. You can test this by plugging a laptop into the router and use an ethernet cable > then run a speedtest.... Speedtests on wifi do not prove anything other than they are unreliable.... Mobiles receive their signal from towers and are susceptible to external interference as well as internal.

Interference is very difficult to identify and comes from many different places.

This is a great example of how interference affects broadband! : bbc.co.uk/new…180

I don’t understand how people can ever say this deal is cold as £79 a month for everything you get is great, especially if you use it

I understand how to use IPTV and all other associated services but still prefer to know when my football kicks off I just tune in to a proper channel that won’t buffer and have ghosting as I can’t stand seeing 3 balls due to picture quality

Only thing Virgin need to do really is update the TiVo box very old now compared to Sky Q

gawd yes Tivo is old, the V6 boxes are ok certainly faster than the much older 500gb models...

Virgin have something new coming though - but you can bet it will be pricey - Virgin TV 360 - next Gen TV!

It certainly looks interesting and am looking forward to giving it a go!
Our Ultimate oomph contract is coming to an end, anyone know what happens to the included mobile contracts if we leave? I have 2 mobiles with the bundle. Not a bad deal as 1 is free but we can't afford oomph anymore, we never used the second box or the films either, want to find the lowest cost broadband and possibly go Freeview .
Appreciate any suggestions

Have a look at the big oomph package currently on offer, £34 a month for 18 months and has a 5gb sim, no sports or movies but has the main channels and 200 broadband package.
We’re dropping to that from the £79 package too, plus don’t forget cash back

That’s so helpful thank you so much, weirdly I couldn’t find that deal anywhere on Virgin, so I did a google search for “big oomph Virgin” & hey presto there it was! Can you tell us where you see the cash back Quidco & TopCashback don’t have “Big Oomph” listed so I doubt it would work, we’d still get the wine though so that’s a great incentive:)
Are these Virign media deals always on? Will it be replaced by another similar deal?
I'm interested in the Big Oomph Ultimate but it's a couple of months too early for me until I move house.

Their deal appear to change every couple of weeks or so recently, you only have to look at the frequency of the offers on here. There appears to be a permanent offer for ultimate oomphof £79 per month plus installation (usually £139 per month which is what you will go on to in 18 months). Recently they offered £150 billing credit, this ended and then a week or so later it was £450 headphones or a £200 bill credit - this only lasted a few days. Then they offered free installation worth £35, and then this last week they have had the £100 bill credit (or wine) plus free installation. The cashback sites have also been up and down, but the £155 Quidco were offering was also the highest it’s been for a while. I would rather have the higher bill credit than the quidco because Quidco has failed to pay out more often than pay out for me in the last year or so.
I know this is icy cold, but if you are interest the offer runs out at midnight

Nothing to do with Branson. Liberty Global have owned the company since 2013.
Virgin failed to provide me with sim in 0mph and no refund or any help. Customer service incompetent sells lies about internet, their main product everything else is a mystery. Broadband and landline is good everything else is not virgin so they can’t promise anything even tho on their page they promise a lot. All lies even next day engineers forget about any payment for lack of service etc.
Not holding my breath but has anyone got a screenshot of this deal..... took it out and virgin haven’t gave me the bill credit and claimed it’s not in my contract. They said I need to prove the deal and they connect check there side!

I ordered on 14th Oct via phone, install/activation due 3rd November. £200 Welcome Credit applied (-£35 setup fee) and the whole experience was painless.
Here's a redacted copy of my contract, hope it helps you.
