Another 48-hour sale from IHG - prices will start at £29 for Holiday Inn Express, not bad for Christmas parties, shopping trips etc.

Starts at 01:00 on 28th November, usually they produce a list of the hotels and their prices, that doesn't seem to be available yet.

I've just received an email - Platinum Rewards Club members will have access to it 24 hours earlier, so 01:00 27th November if that applies to you

Thank you for the heads up.

No probs - they had this at the end of October as well, got a £29 room just over the road from my Christmas party, then work went and changed the date! So, second time lucky (unless I can convince the hotel to move the reservation during the sale)...

Got this last year. I think we paid £45 for a Crowne Plaza at Wellington Gate in London. Although it was actually sold to Taj hotels a couple of weeks before we stayed. No problems though and we also got a room upgrade which was nice,

Hope I remember this, thanks.

I've set my alarm

Thanks, no emails to let me know - so thanks for posting.

Thanks OP, would have missed this again.
Sale is now live to all Rewards Members but unless you need a room anyway, it’s a joke, just like round one was I understand. There’s plenty of rooms with much cheaper rates right alongside the flash sale rates, booking conditions are more or less identical …thought there were laws about sales!
Rooms are expensive as well, gone are the times of a Central London Crowne Plaza or New Year’s Eve for £20.12 a night!

Yes, it's the same with their Barclaycard free nights - there never used to be any exclusions, now it's nigh on impossible to get a family room at any weekend in December, even though those rooms are still available for purchase. Having said that, I did grab a £29 HIEx room in the last sale for the night of my work's Christmas party, just over the road from it. Unfortunately, work then changed the date and there's zero availability now

Quite surprised this isn't hotter as Holiday Inn express rooms are quality. Just got 2 Saturday night family rooms for £29 a night. With breakfast & good quality drinks included a real bargain in my opinion

Morning guys, quick question, do you have to be signed in to get the discount? (don't know my login details off hand!)

Also, the link seems to take me to the American site (advertising "fall" deals... it's called Autumn yanks!!), is there a specific place to go to search all hotels available in UK areas?

Cheers in advance!

It appears so. I also forgot my details so signed up with a different email address. Good luck

EDIT - I searched by County which brought up all the hotels in that area & you can then search by Price.

Nothing more romantic than a 29 stay in Peterborough. Definitely bang for the buck.

Crowne plaza is certainly better, then holiday Inn, then express in my opinion.

You get what you pay for at the end of the day, having said that the HIEx's I've stayed in have all been clean, and they're the only IHG brand that include any form of breakfast as standard, so better bang for your buck in this deal.

that's why it is classed higher than holiday inn and ex in the ihg portfolio and that's why it costs more

Normally get loads of £10/20 rooms for January about this time of year come on sale by a few of the chains. Got my folks a few nights away the past few years, but looks a no go this year or maybe I'm to early.

I Think those days are gone from what i've heard unfortunately. I've had many £9 Travelodge rooms ( including Covent Garden & London City Road ) in the past & the brilliant Campanile £1 room sale - when i managed to get 7 different hotels over the December / january period about 3 years ago. Fingers crossed those kind of deals return

Haha, those Campanile deals were unreal. We had no kids at the time so took full advantage of them with different stays around the midlands. Oh and they were at least 5 years ago believe it or not

It's scary John how time flies. I remember doing Leicester, Milton Keynes, Northampton & Coventry ( Probably a couple more ) , & yes, it may well have been 5 years ago. The Coventry one reminded me of Butlins , the way the rooms were set out. Love those deals back

Haha, I done all 4 of them for a quid with the Milton Keynes or Northampton one being the best, brand new, it was inbetween the two towns so not too sure which one. The Cov one is very old school, I pass it most days!
