This is truly, with no sarcasm intended, my favourite ever post on this website.

seems a good buy
super hot for newest ultegra r8000 which on its own is £799
Would be a decent price if the crankset was a better option 50/34

What? Hardly affects the value of the bike!
What's the rear cassette size?

Found it. 11-28. Not bad!

Just by £100 when you need to change it.
Looks a great buy.

Cassette? Would have thought it came with a USB Mp3 player.
8.6kg seems quite heavy for an ultegra build with rim brakes? Good price none the less.

The wheels aren't the lightest.
Great price
Great value bike and a good price no doubt.
Personally if I was spending a grand and wanting an ultegra groupset I'd probably want something fancier than Ribble.
Their framesets although well reviewed by some somehow don't inspire as much as those of bigger brands.

Can you get anything better with latest Ultegra for a grand though?

Nope.

I'm not aware that you can get a better bike for the price ATM. Which is why I voted hot and stated it's a great value deal.
Just not for me.
As good as latest ultegra is, I'd prefer to put the difference between ultegra and 105 towards better frameset and wheels.

Just spotted in mail, great value well specked, but really 50 x 11not enough who do you think you are Chris Hoy.

The only let down are the wheels nice looking but are a bit heavy. The new Mavic tubeless ones blooming expensive but mighty fine. road.cc/con…ust

I don't think you realistically need to change it!

50-11 is enough. If you're racing then you probably wouldn't be buying this bike anyway!

Most of the big players use the same three to four Asian carbon fibre manufacturers as Ribble and Dolan do

Why not? I race on an older 53cm Ribble sportive frame.
I would rather have the disc one now if I was getting a new bike, it doesn't seem so cheap though, this is a good deal.

While that's true that everyone uses the same factories and manufacturers, the material, design and quality control is all optimised to a specific price point.
So as with everything you get what you pay for.
That's not saying cheap carbon is bad carbon. I ride a cheapo CF bike and I'm very pleased.
But if I wanted an ultegra bike I'd want a frameset to match that premium feel.
Amazed how this forum attracts 100% of the pro cyclists in Britain where wheel weight or cassette size actually matter.

Just because you can't tell the difference, it doesn't mean they only matter to pros.

Cassette size matters with compact cranks. I don't get it.

If you're so damn bothered about have a 53 tooth then dont but the bike!

Relax. Lol.
Terrible gearing. Min speed 8-9 mph, max speed 45mph. Don't buy this if you live near any hills.
