I own this case. Paid just under £50 for it and its a brill case both for looks and cooling. To jazz it up abit i installed 2 blue led fans with chrome blades in the front. While the units switched off u can see the chrome blades through the black mesh front, its a real eye catcher.

I've been thinking about this case. What's it like on sound levels? I heard that because of the mesh you can hear all the fans inside.

I've been very happy with my Antec NSK6580; best case I've used so far.

The Antec fans with it are very quiet, but perhaps the best thing about this case is it's a fantastic base for modding and projects. Fans are easily changed if they're too loud, but you won't get much better with a case at this price point in my opinion.

good price ..................... but it's from overclockers, beware!!! If you are not familiar with them I'd google 'overclockers' 'nightmare'

Banned

i'll keep my p180b thanks

I'm a regular customer and I've never had a problem with them. Always had great service and extremely quick dispatch. It seems most of the bad reviews posted on the web are very old and from bitter banned forum members. Make from that what you will.

P180B is a nice case, I have a P182, but they're both hardly comparable to the 300, they're from a totally different price range and aim to accomplish different things.

Grear price, Antec stuff is awesome.

You've never had to return anything to them I guess? I got stung once by them and they'll never get another penny out of me. But hey, each to their own and if you want to buy from them do so but I think it's only right that people should be made aware of the level of customer service they will receive should they have to return anything. Plenty of people on the computer forums I read still have major problems with this company.

Try posting anything on the overclockers forum which says anything bad about them and it'll get pulled and you'll get banned.

I've returned several items to them actually, had changes and cancelled orders, all went swimmingly.

If you can provide recent links to people who've had genuine unresolved issues with them, I'd like to see.

Also, it's very clear in the forum rules that you can't make any anti-company posts. Now why would a company set up and pay for forums and then let people bad-mouth themselves on them? Makes no sense does it? I'd do the same if it were my company. There is a customer service section on the forums for any problems you may have with the company, as well as various other ways to contact them, though phone is probably the best.

Anyway, it's your loss.

I'm sure if you really wanted to and you use google it'll take you a good 30 seconds to find more like this ....

You don't work for OCUK do you???

I'll second Killie99. good case, crap retailer.....

You only have to google for it..... far too many complaints over the years....

I'd rather pay £2 more and buy from Scan.co.uk

Ha, no I don't work for them. That example you posted has not been followed up yet, and it is on the customer to prove the damage was there on unboxing. From the company's point of view they could have done the damage themselves. I've worked in PC retail before and it's a nightmare sorting the idiots from the disgruntled honest ones. Sad thing was, they could have returned it under the DSR no questions asked.

Google only brings up more old problems based on deliveries not being on time and far from eloquent descriptions of the attitude of the support staff. Chances are they were giving better than they got, and you only know one side of the story here.

I challenge you to find a large PC retailer that doesn't have a handful of irritated customers shouting their opinion across the internet. The happy ones stay quiet, and considering the typical turnover, we're talking about a massive massive majority being happy.

Based on?

They've gone above and beyond for me several times, including sending me out some free games because a manufacturer had ended a special offer just before I purchased!

Sure, I go other places if there's a big difference in price, but always getting free delivery (which is 1st class or courier) and a high standard of service makes me go back there almost every time.

As I said again, it's your loss, but I appreciate your opinions. Mine is based on my own experiences with them.

Used Overclockers for years, never had a problem.
Infact, the latest system I bought a couple of weeks ago came with this case.

Voted hot.

Hardly anyone on HUKD has free postage as it takes quite a commitment to get it so the price should include the postage.

£9.50
I can get it cheaper picking it up from Novatech.

You can also get it cheaper by picking it up from Overclockers! So your arguement fails.

Excellent case, the 2 fans it comes with have 3 speed settings and with room for another 3 its as cold inside as it is leaving it outside the back door at the moment!

Just remember, if you buy this case the PSU sits at the bottom for better weight distribution, so you may need the 20+4 pin cable extensions - but they are only a few £ from any where.

That's the case I have, and I am delighted with mine, good quality, simple looks. Mine had the silver front on it though so I have sprayed that black to match the rest, looks great

hmm - price has gone up - £42.99 and P&P is a hitch

way to many bad experience with this company avoid them its well knowleged on forums there problems..

Price has got up, you could never have guessed!!! They aren't called 'overchargers' for nothing!

I think it shows a lot about a company that they ban users for complaining on their forums.

I agree. Good price bad company.

I ordered a power supply from them not long ago, which showed as in stock. I paid extra for next day delivery as I am staff at a LAN party and the LAN was that weekend. I needed a new PSU quick as mine had just blown up on the Wednesday.
Took Friday off work and waited, and waited, and waited. Checked the order status which had changed from despatched to out of stock. Emailed to ask what the story was and was told it was out of stock and I'd need to choose a replacement. No apology nothing. Sent a polite but irate email asking for a refund and stating that I wasn't happy as I had deliberately gone for next day delivery as it was an emergency and had taken the day off work to boot. Got an email back that said "OK. Done." Nothing else. No apology, no "with compliments" just those 2 words. Absolutely shocking attitude towards customers.
Guy next to me at work ordered from them about 2 weeks later even after listening to me complain about them and he said "it's OK, I'm not in a rush for it. Just a sound card". Similar problem, out of stock but accepted the order. They eventually refunded the order without the delivery charge and he pointed this out they took another 2 weeks to refund that.
I've had to return things to Ebuyer and Scan before and it went very very smoothly with a very quick turnaround. I'd trust them above Overclockers anytime.

Good price.

Shame the owner (spie) has been outed as a racist (a google search confirms this on many a forum ... ). Can't change that fact I'm afraid, good service or not - I used to be a loyal customer and would be happy to pay a shade more for their decent products in one place, but after seeing what was leaked from their staff-only section of the forum, absolutely not another penny being spent there.

Quite right.

Getting the membership requirements for free post without getting 'banned' is a mission in itself. Even people who said Spie (owner) was showing off by posting his luxury cars have been banned in the past. A little sad, eh?

whats the difference between this and the antec 182b which imo looks better.

Got this case for my parents, really good to work with. I have another Antec case myself, good quality at great value.

The p182b is quite a big bigger...

just size difference?

I bought one last week for £45 at Ebuyer, but its still in the box unused, going on fleabay today.

I got this 2 days ago for £6 more from ebuyer. am very pleased with it. I dont think the fans are loud when on the slowest setting, not compared to my hdd (samsung spinpoint f3).

£42.99 now and i totally agree. Shipping should be included with Overclockers and the free postage thing should just be an added incentive rather than a given because the vast majority of people won't have it. 250 posts is alot to ask for especially seeing as they delete posts that they see as not adding to the discussions.

its been this price for a few months now so nothing specail.

I think it shows a lot about your ignorance to how companies work that you even make that comment.

Besides, the price has now gone up, and this isn't as good a deal, so expired is right for this.

Don't understand all the bad company comments still, almost every online PC component store has forum posts from users with apparent horror stories, which are only one side of the story remember. It is, of course, your prerogative as to where you shop, though immediately dismissing a company because of what is a tiny number of dissatisfied customers is foolish in my opinion.

If you're mulling over this or the P182/P180, I'd say go with the P182 if you can afford it. It's a much better case and much more refined, though the only real drawbacks are it's very heavy and slightly more difficult to work in with regards to hard drives, though cable management is easier.

Perhaps. But many e-tailers use their forums for support and query resolutions. OcUK are just a little sensitive to anything other than glowing praise.

Then perhaps this shows your ignorance slightly?

Not that it's a bad thing, I'm just pointing out the facts here: plenty of people post about products from places I've not had good experiences, yet nobody else makes negative comments.

Yet when a firm comes along and only ever receives numerous negative remarks, surely something has to be awry? Don't get me wrong - I've never had an issue with OcUK, other than the owner being a racist bigot, but I know plenty who've not been so lucky with returns and RMAs.

The firm is also known for shady methods of dealing with staff and how they are paid and contracts created. One guy who now works for Novatech will attest to this for sure - seeing as it's common knowledge.

So in the meantime, if you are comfortable buying expensive, yet quality parts from a racist show-off who bans members who don't like his many lavish cars and don't think the sun shines out of his bottom, then that's your prerogative

But I thank you nonetheless for the original post - you got heat from me

Original Poster

The fact is, I don't see more negative reviews for them than anywhere else. There are plenty for almost every popular store.

I have had lots of first hand experience dealing with them and never had an issue, so obviously my view comes from that standpoint, it can't come any other way. They've gone above and beyond what other retailers have done for me on more than one occasion.

Their 'shady methods' with staff and the fact you believe the owner is a 'racist bigot' has absolutely nothing to do with it. I couldn't care less what he thinks of himself or what car he has, I'm not being his friend, I'm buying products from his company. That chap no longer works for Novatech either, so I don't think that adds much weight to his opinion.

And again with the forum banning. It's a forum paid for and run by the owner of OcUK. He can do whatever the heck he wants to, it's his forum! Your membership there is a privilege, not a right. The rules are pretty clear, and if I owned them I certainly wouldn't put up with any posts that could damage the company's reputation, you'd have to be an idiot to let that go.

Fair enough adding heat onto the original post, it was a good deal for forum members with enough posts, and that is what this site is about. This has gone off topic enough, next time I won't bother sharing OcUK deals here if people just fancy having a go at the company for whatever reason. Only trying to share a good deal at the end of the day.

Surely if someone posts something negative on the OCUK forum, instead of getting rid of the problem, they should help instead.

getting rid shows them in a bad light, and also shows there customer service is non existant.

I myself have bought things off them, and have never had a problem, with delivery "esp when delivery has been free* but then i've never had to return anything so far.

these days i tend to stick with Scan who have the best prices imo. plus being a member of avforums gets me free delivery from them as well.. and that comes in real handy
