Anti freeze - 1 litre £1 @ Poundland

Found 21st Nov 2012
Just been to Tesco and felt robbed with a £4 purchase for a litre of anti-freeze when Poundland are selling this for a £1. This will stay at a pound but I suspect that the price will sharply rise elsewhere as winter approaches.

Very small bottle

watered down

You also need to make sure you're using the correct type of anti-freeze for your car. Adding this cheap blue stuff to red/pink/purple stuff in most modern cars can cause problems.

I'll never understand the obsession with this stuff during winter, as your car needs it the year round.

ok to only -12 ?

most decent brands at 50/50 would be good down to -35 to -40

I want to vote this hot just for the irony.

I was looking for antifreeze for my motor and couldn't belive the beast price for blur anti freeze ( which is what my car takes) is 15 quid a gallon! I had enough for a top up but it should be remembered that the antifreeze also acts as a lubricant for the water pump. So, as said befor it's not just in winter it is importan but also acts as a coolant in the summer.
Having said that I have had one engine freeze up due to lack of antifreeze. This was for a 1987transit that popped the block plugs. Method of unfreezing was to start a fire underneath it. Advice from a local mechanic. unfozen and block plugs replaced the engine did work. YYou couldn't do that these days.
