I am not sure that I could watch this again, especially in high definition, but for anyone who would like this film, it appears to be a very good price on Blu-Ray.

Lars von Trier's controversial exploration of depression, guilt and sexuality stars Willem Dafoe and Charlotte Gainsbourg as a couple grieving the death of their young son. The mother is initially admitted to hospital following the incident, but her husband - a therapist - insists on taking her to their remote forest cabin, 'Eden', and looking after her himself. Presented in four chapters with a prologue and epilogue, the film charts the often violent and disturbing course of the couple's anguish as they immerse themselves in nature and act out their deep suffering in a sequence of increasingly bizarre and brutal rituals.

Original Poster

I wouldn't say that its crap just very disturbing. I saw it at the cinema and I can still clearly recall some of the scenes which are very frightening. I thought the way they set the story out in the beginning was an artistic masterpiece, but I wasn't prepared for what followed.

The scenes at the start are amazing, truly disturbing movie more shocked that it is hollywood made, don't expect a story masterpiece but do expect to be shocked which is rare these days, amazing acting as well

"hollywood made"? only american actors

The best start ive ever seen in a movie, horrifying to say the least, truly mind blowing although very disturbing, followed by 90 or so minutes of self absorbed garbage
