Antler Titanium Excl Large Charcoal Suitcase - £65.70 @ Amazon

I had something like this from Antler (carbon seems to ring a bell) but it cracked so I had my money refunded.

It didn’t look scuffed or thrown around.

Seems like a good deal considering the set of two is £250 and the single navy colour is £150

Damaged whilst in use on its first flight - not over filled and had no marks on it. Perhaps it was too brittle.

The Airline covered the cost of the bag but in all honesty, I’ve not had such issues with Samsonite over many trips of being thrown about.

You may be right although I think ABS is supposed to allow a certain amount of flexing despite its rigid / hard case classification. It might also have been some extreme weight was placed on just the damaged part of your case (ie, rather than distributed across the entire suitcase).

I'm a fan of Samsonite too and have a few, but you do have to pay a fair premium for their quality. All have served me very well too

I'm hopeful the Antler which has a decent warranty and priced competitively here will hold up for at least 5 years.

Yes, Samsonite are not cheap but there are offers to be had at outlets and occasional decent sales.

That still doesn’t get it to this price point and you could rightly argue that you can get two of these bags for the same price but I just wouldn’t entertain the idea - would rather have less hassle.

Your experience may vary - Antler are a big brand that have been in business a long time so who knows!

Earlier this year I ‘retired’ my Antler cases that i have been using for at least the last ten years and replaced them with some Samsonite Spark SNG. First trip and the Samsonites are damaged due to what seems to be a weak point in the construction - response from Samsonite is that i should claim against the airline

Price now £66.17, gunna give it a go as have a month long trip to USA coming up hoping this will be big enough!

Get luggage with clip on lock instead of zippers. I've got an antler and my zipper was easily picked (as with any brand) when collecting from turnstile luggage was opened.

If I needed a case, I'd go for it at this price. My antler carry on is brilliant (cloth).

My friend was an air hostess and had a Samsonite large case which is amazing and has been repaired a few times under warranty at service centers.

Her carry on is a Delsey? and is one of the best bags I have seen.

Difficult to describe but where they have the spring loaded luggage label on the side it easily catches on things and then rips
