Save your old knives
Whether you’re slicing meat, dicing vegetables, or carving the Sunday Roast, a sharp blade makes cutting effortless. AnySharp restores a super sharp cutting edge to blunt knife blades that have dulled with use.

Works with all your knives
Hardened steel The AnySharp uses tungsten carbide technology to extend the life of almost any knife. AnySharp works on virtually any knife, including expensive hardened steel knives.

Serrated knives
AnySharp even works with serrated blades* (like bread knives and hunting knives), making it unlike any knife sharpener, steel or sharpening stone you’ve ever used.

*Not very fine toothed serrated knives.

No skill required
The optimum angle to sharpen a good quality steel knife is 20 degrees. AnySharp is pre-set at 20 degrees to give an optimum edge every time. Getting a consistent angle with a sharpening stone is a skilled job, but AnySharp allows anyone to get professional results without any training at all.

AnySharp is Safer by Design
Hands free safety The AnySharp’s safety feature is its PowerGrip suction cup base, which attaches securely to any smooth surface or worktop without the need for any tools. Once it’s attached you can sharpen any knife safely hands free.

Knife edge safety
When your whole knife has been run through, your knife edge may touch as it exits the sharpening tools. The AnySharp has a long-lasting polymer guiding top that is softer than metal, and therefore won’t damage the metal edge, making it safe for your knives too.

Easy, light strokes
With a totally blunt knife, AnySharp will hone it to an optimal angle, and remove excess metal rapidly the first time you use it. AnySharp does not work well with heavy strokes or too much pressure.

Please use only light pressure.

Store it easily and conveniently out of the way
Since it is so small and light, AnySharp can be easily tidied away in a drawer, cupboard, or tool box when not needed. AnySharp is small enough to store in your kitchen drawer. You could even PowerGrip it to your fridge or tiled kitchen wall, out of the way yet handy when you need it.

Features

  • Sharpens any knife with diamond precision
  • Sharpens hardened knives (e.g. Global, Sabatier)
  • Even sharpens serrated knives (e.g. bread knives, hunting knives)
  • Very safe one handed use, PowerGrip suction attaches securely to any flat surface
  • Dimensions: 60mm diameter and 60mm high
  • 2 Years Warranty

I got bought a Japanese knife 4 years ago. I don’t think it’s anything too expensive, probably £20.
I didn’t have to sharpen it for ages. After a year or so I used a sharpener on it and now I have to sharpen it weekly, or every 2 weeks. I Usually only chop veg as well, it’s not like I’m using it to cut anything hard.

Is this in my head? Or have I ruined the knife?
how often are you supposed to sharpen knives?

It heavily depends on use but I would say a good quality Japanese knife (58 HRC) would need sharpening every 1-3 months to stay in top shape. Even though that would probably cost around £50-80 even on a deal instead of £20.
Lower quality knives with softer metal might need sharpening every 3-4 weeks or so.

If the knife is being sharpened improperly afterwards or the whetstone isn't good enough, it's pretty likely that it can't retain its edge for long.

Coming from a sushi knife instructor, so I've had my fair time with knives. I'm the knife snob everyone mentions on this thread (edited)

Last time I ordered this, a fake/cheap knock off came. I complained and they refunded immediately. I still have it somewhere but it’s rubbish.

    Reporting in.

I have one of these. They're great to very quickly get a knife sharp, but they do take a lot of metal off the knife and destroy the bevel.

Maybe you don't care, if you sharpen infrequently then you'll probably never notice or care. If you care enough to spend hundreds on your knives then you won't want to use this. I don't, but I also spent hundreds on whetstones because I'm very much a knife snob. Different markets entirely.

These are really good. OK, I use cheap knifes, but with this they are really sharp!

    Wait for it…

Are you waiting for the couch chefs who claim this'll damage their knives and that you have to spend like £50 on a proper one?

I actually need a knife sharpener so I'm not sure whether this'll be good enough. My knives were bought from ProCook

The gateway deal that brought (yes that's brought) many of us to hukd way back when

These are fine for cheap non-toughened steel knives which need a top up but I weren't that happy with it when trying to sharpen very blunt knives. Also wouldn't use this on my more expensive VG10 knife (I have a Lansky for that)

Wondering if there is such a thing as a knife sharpener sharpener? 🤪 :/

I have one of these, pretty good but after a while it no longer stuck to the kitchen surfaces with its vacuum seal. I now have to hold it in place with one hand … still have all my digits … for now (edited)

Last one has lasted me about 3 years. Have a set of Morphy Richards knives and they are still very sharp thanks to this device.

Ordered 4, extra 5% off, that's a christmas present sorted for three people, I have a whetstone and a steel, they're great, but this does genually look like it might be easer to get the same results. I also had an electric one, it destroyed an expensive knife. (edited)

Absolutely perfect. I got a £5 knife set from IKEA. The chopping knife handles everything like butter. Once a month I run it through this and it stays sharp.

5 years on with multiple use a day and that knife is as sharp as when I bought it. Granted it's lost a couple mill in size from sharpening but it's incredible. Before this thing I went through knifes every other year

Same price in asda, down from £8

cheers, will go there 'blue light card; discount will reduce it further (if I can find one in my local Asda)

These things will ruin your knives. If you have cheap ones fine but anything decent will get ruined by this thing.
  30. d032sh's avatar
One thing... Chopping boards. If you want sharp knives, use plastic or wood. You do not need to spend a fortune on maple end grain (unless you want to) but glass, marble, bamboo, will blunt your knives so fast it's pointless sharpening at all. Cheap plastic works fine.
  31. Proveright's avatar
Thanks OP. If you are after a knife sharpener order it now.
These should also be listed under yoyos as like Asda who also stock them, they go in and out of stock very fast.

This price would be the plastic body version, the metal body one, is more expensive.

I’ve had this since 2014 and it still works well. I use it around 3 times a year for all my knives and never had any issues.
  34. Peter_Szygowski's avatar
Thanks for posting and I've ordered one! I was still using a sharpener that I got 30 years ago when Texaco were doing their star stamps. Good old days when I was a rep and filled up every few days...
£6 you can't go wrong. I've tried quite a few methods including diamond sharpeners and get good results with them all!
