I believe this has been roughly the standard price. I've been tempted a few times to upgrade to this monitor but never pulled the trigger.

Ok price, but I'm pretty certain Amazon have had the price around £200 a few times very recently...so there is a good chance it will dip to about £200 again.

My main question is this worth the money. I'm currently using a twin 1080p 24inch monitor setup and was wondering will I see a vast difference in gaming?

Only if your graphics card can push to 1440p at high detail if not stick with 1080p

Recently bought myself an rx 480 8gb. So should be able to push most games to max at 2k

Cheaper elsewhere right now, under £200, not sure about delivery costs though.
Personally I refuse to buy a monitor with a glossy coating, screens are adding various eye protect modes and features to reduce eye strain. This has a stupid glossy frame that can reflect the light directly into your eyes causing eye strain and possible distracting. Might be ok for short sessions, provided no bright lights or sunlight hits the frame....

Lol

I have this monitor it's pretty good for the money I have 1 dead pixel but not that noticeable. I like the size but my old dell 1920x1200 looked just as good if I'm honest.

Does it have freesync?

Agreed

A lot of office laptops don't have an HDMI. I have a lenova thinkpad i5, probably about +- 2 years old and has no HDMI. I would need an additional adapter to connect it to HDMI but has a VGA port.

are you mad? 4k on a tiny little 27inch?
2k on 27inch is cool but 4k is basically a sight test.
yes you can scale windows but not everything scales properly and some 3rd party programs don't scale at all leaving you with tiny unreadable fonts.

you spent money on a card don't skimp on the monitor, the xf270hu is down to £399.99 on ebuyer, 2k AHVA-IPS (IPS not VA tech, most people get confused) good colours as its IPS, 144hz freesync, and 4ms g2g (yes a tiny bit slower but the colours and clarity make up for it).
AHVA-IPS is repeat is not VA, many people confuse it with AMVA which is VA but its an advanced IPS type that has higher refresh than IPS but still retains IPS colours and view angles.
TN screens are for people who cant live without shaving of 3ms response rate and don't care that the colour is horribly washed out.

the question really is have you used TN screens for your dual monitor set up? if you have you will be used to it but if they are IPS you might be in for a shock.

The monitor in this thread is 1440p resolution.

seems to be some knowledgable folk on this thread -
can anyone recommend a 4k/5k monitor please?

I'm looking to hook up a retina 15" MBP (mid-2014 era)
mainly going to be for Photoshop/Lightroom and video editing
currently running a couple of 24" Dells (2407, 1920x1200)

was thinking of maybe getting a single 27" 4k monitor

What are people's thoughts on Dell's current offerings?

Mine has DisplayPort, but for dual monitor use I have to use the VGA as well. So I'm certainly glad that monitor manufacturers still support VGA, clunky as it may be.

Does it have DisplayPort though? DisplayPort to HDMI leads are ten a penny.

The price is now £202.97.
