Really got my fingers cross I can pick something like this but 1440p up for sub £200 tomorrow, and my toes crossed!

At this size FHD isn't too bad but yes that would be great
This looks really good value, anyone have any first hand experience of it or something close to this price?

144hz for this price is good value, you're usually looking at this as a starting point WITHOUT the curvature. As far as marketing terminology goes 1800R is the best curvature angle or whatever, and this is slightlly below that at 1500R, but I'd buy this in a hearbeat if it was 1440p. Curvature is all preference anyway.

Mind if I ask your advice for a new monitor over PMs? It was this I was looking at.

I should probably have stressed this is for a 10 year old, currently using a 60hz monitor with an RTX 2060

Should be a noteworthy upgrade?

Fire away my man, I'm not an expert by any means but I know my way around a panel and what to pay for it!

Entirely depends what he's playing! If it's FPS (The newest CoD, CSGO, blah blah blah), then look for a higher frame rate (144hz+) to improve his response times on that, you will also want a low MS response time on the panel itself, anything below 4 MS response is good enough, but the lower the better really (1MS being the lowest).

If he's just focusing on single player games like minecraft, and other such games, and would prefer to have better graphics and doesn't care about refresh rates and FPS games as much then look for something at 60-75hz and 1440p. The 2060 is a great card, but will struggle with 4k AND 144Hz, but could easily churn out 144Hz and 1440p if you wanted a mixture of both but this will set you back a little more than just the price above. Usually by about double.I'm on the lookout for a 1440p 144Hz monitor for around the £220 mark TOPS today. I'll be chuffed if I can get that! Can let you know if I find one too if you'd like?

EDIT: 2060 at 10... lucky chap!

Fortnite, Fortnite and more Fortnite! But he is just shouting and screaming with his mates, hes far from a pro gamer, I think this will suffice and still be a noteworthy upgrade on his crappy 60hz 15ms panel he has now?

I should probably stress this is about the most Id be willing to spend so I guess the question is really, can I do better for this amount?

Gotcha! All the rage at the moment still isn't it! In that sense, you won't want to worry toooooo much about any of this business. I do just need to ask quickly. PC or Console? This monitor is more than enough for just a bit of 10-year-old-yelling, but it'll last him a good few years, and will hold value if he looks after it well.

This is a GREAT price for what it is, but you could go for any old 1080p low response time monitor with likely even 75Hz if you wanted to penny pinch, it's likely he won't notice the difference between the frame rates very much at 10. But you will definitely notice yourself.

Yeah PC, no self respecting PC gaming father would let his offspring play FPS games on consoles! :P I've decided to go for this, I cant see any dreadful reviews and for the price there doesnt seem to be anything else close (and cant really go 2nd hand for christmas gifts!)

Good choice marteee, I'm so close to buying this one myself, but the 27" version, it really is a cracking deal... but it's only 7 days to go and I might miss out on an even BETTER deal! I hate this time of year lol!

Good plan stan! I'm guessing you're getting your Xmas shopping done a little early? Hope it's going well! I've actually managed a fair proportion of mine, and, God forbid, had the majority done pre-november like some sort of uber-organised swine.
