Grabbed myself a couple before posting, would be interested in any comments from gamers, these are just for my son’s first set up so not overly concerned about competition grade response times etc
Way too large for such a low resolution.

If you're going to be using this for browsing or document editing at all, it's a no go.

Perfect for people exclusively gaming, however.
11 in stock when I posted, seems all gone and back up to £267.10 !

Just for gaming

Perfect for a PC gamer.

If it's for console gaming, there's cheaper options out there as you don't need to pay for a high refresh rate monitor.

24” seems a good price @ £134.99.

Any links to some cheaper options solely for consoles? My son has asked for one of these to replace an aged tv. I assume the higher refresh rate monitor is just for the pc gamers

This should fit the bill. You'd just need a pair of speakers (£20-£30) as monitors, unlike TVs, don't typically come with speakers built in.

Stupid question, but everyone keeps suggesting 3.5mm connections for speakers. Is there any way of hooking a monitor up to a better speaker connection? I’ve a laptop and PS4 if it helps and whilst using a headset for the majority of the time on the laptop, I’d like to use the monitor to watch Netflix on etc.

You'd have to hook the speakers up to the audio source itself. I think PS4 supports optical-out.

But 3.5mm should be fine. Even plenty of professional and audiophile grade equipment use 3.5mm connection.

Thanks so much! Shows how little I know, I was always under the impression with audio now going through hdmi, 3.5 was the “lesser”. Thanks again.

Hi mate, do live anywhere bear Bolton?

I have my old Samsung monitor I used to use for console gaming just sat in my attic. The box is beaten up so it's not suitable as a gift, but if it's just there to do the job then the monitor itself looks really nice and you can pick it up for free. DM me if you want it.

That’s a very nice offer that, appreciate it, I don’t appear to be able to DM you to discuss.
I am not close enough to Bolton though to even consider collecting though.
Thank you for offering

Even then its not really the best size in my opinion for gaming. 27 inch is already plenty huge and anything above that you'll start seeing pixels if it's not 1440p+

I would look for a 24-27 inch IPS display monitors. You can find deals at £90+ for something like this.

If the console is a PS4 Pro /Xbox one then you might want to get a 4K display, but a TV would be better value for that price.
