D-sub only for a 21.5 inch monitor??? And no speakers. This is a bit too expensive.

I'm looking for 3D monitors so this is not for me.

This does seem good value, even with VGA only.

Good quality monitor, I have one of these right in front of me.
Regarding speakers, who uses built-in ones?

I agree the lack of speakers isn't a big deal, but VGA only is. At this price you'd really want something with at least dual input with DVI (ideally HDCP compliant too).

What an odd thing to do, design a FULL HD 16:9 instead of a 16:10 monitor with only VGA

VGA isn't as bad as you think it is.

It is if you want to connect a digital source.

I know DVI > VGA converters exist, but they don't work for HDCP content. And to be honest you don't want to be messing around with converters when you've paid nearly £100 for a monitor.

It's a long time since SVP have been good value. Used to use them a lot but been overpriced for many years.

A good price with them usually means it's tat.

Can't comment on if this monitor is tat, but I have had 2 AOC monitors and both had dead pixels even though they were new straight out of the box!

It's £99.99 plus delivery?

was one of the best companies to deal with, now one of the worst.

... and I never order from companies who don't give their phone number.

It's worse though, theres just reason to have it nowadays.

Monitors should just give it up already on the speakers. They're all worthless, even the ones on really expensive monitors. You're just doing yourself no favours at all suffering life with any kind of monitor speaker.
