From the creator of Grand Theft Auto and Crackdown comes a completely new style of online experience. Built like a massively multiplayer online game but featuring intense arcade style action, APB throws you into the constant battle between law and order.

Choose to play as either an Enforcer or Criminal and create your own team of players as you try to gain control of the massive open world city of San Paro. Whenever you start a mission the game will automatically search for an opposing team with a similar level of skill, providing instant but equally matched opposition at all times.

Victory not only means more weapons and equipment but also the chance to become an online celebrity as you and your teammates leave your mark on the city via a huge range of customisation options. With tens of thousands of players exploring and fighting at the same time this is the cutting edge of online gaming.
Key Features

* Cops 'n' Robbers: Compete and co-operate with tens of thousands of fellow players in a giant open world city where the balance between law and order is in your hands.
* World of APB: Unique matchmaking technology ensures you always have real-life human opponents competing at a similar skill level.
* Gears of Crime: Unlike other massively multiplayer online games all the action is in real-time, as you take direct control of your character in intense third person combat.
* Spoils of War: Earn money from successful missions and use it to buy new equipment, weapons, vehicles and clothing not available to newer players.
* Custom Job: Create your own customised characters and vehicles with in-game tools that let successful teams flood the city with their logo and T-shirts.

1. The game comes with 50 hours of gameplay. After that you buy lumps of playtime or go unlimited for a monthly fee.

very bad reviews. not worth £13.97

cost something like 80 million to make this garbage and took the studio down with it ...

The game will probably end up being shut down from what i've heard.

Game probably will be shut down, think it says it all that it's £14.99 in HMV

I have to agree with the other comments here - the game has such an uncertain future (and requires a connection to the server to run, I believe; a server that may not be online in a month!), and such questionable quality (apparently they completely ignored their beta testers) it's probably not worthwhile. Thanks anyway OP.

wat a rip, i thought this was coming out on the consoles?

realtime worlds are bankrupt, dont buy just yet, likelyhood itll either shut down or be switched to a f2p campaign by a 3rd party host.

It's a GTA MMO pretty much, saw it at my friends and by all accounts it looked a little generic. It looked pretty fun to play (coming from someone who doesn't like GTA) but with the game going down soon like the dev I'd avoid.

still £30 on Steam, this was on my buy list too

Original Poster

It's at number 1 in HMV
