Probably not very useful if you are thinking about running NAS off it, as it does not have a data port to tell the NAS to shutdown in the power outage event.

Better off with APCs BackUPS range IMO as they are easier to work with (I don’t think most people have a bunch of IEC leads lying around) and they offer surge protection outlets as well as UPS outlets, ideal for plugging everything in for something typical like a computer setup but only provided backup power to the essentials (PC, switch/router, etc)

Have a careful look at the power supply graph. Only useful for very short outages, but fine if that's what you need.

Yes it for a clean supply via this and useful for short outages.
Good for routers so it keeps ip's if you have smart geat around the house.
Server to shut it doen by hand 'if your there'
But anyone looking to round their tv soundbar etc as normal on these threads it's a no go.
In short less you have on it the longer you get which isn't long. (edited)

Newbie question - what's the difference between the 700/900/etc series and the 750/950/etc series? Is it simply the latter are newer (improved) models?
(edit: just noticed the x50's have data ports) (edited)

I have the older ES700 and it gives roughly 10-15 mins battery backup so just enough for you to power down anything safely if you've got anything running on it (NAS etc)

If I got to always sit by my NAS and watching it sure No seriously, just get one with data port if it is for your NAS. The whole point of buying a UPS in this case is for the ease of mind. By having to always watching it, it is defeating the purpose. Unless you only use your NAS when you are on the same premises and turn it off when you are done, which is totally valid as well. Had an older version of this years ago, it gave me roughly 15 mins power enough to enable me to shut things down gracefully.

    Hope that helps

I think these are more relevant for surge protection rather than battery backup

You could get away with using a £5 extension cord with surge protection if that's what you're aiming for

It’s a good deal but this would be better for the money

Reviews suggest may come with a EU power lead
    Waltz's avatar
Usually these only come with a female to male 3 pin as you would use the appliance you are protecting’s power lead for the UPS to mains.

I’ve seen old versions modified with car battery leads. Does that still works?

You can get these UPSs connected to remote monitoring service and it's supported by Schneider Electric. It's a great service

This does not have any BS 1363 (UK, Type G) sockets. How would I connect my PC and monitor to it? (edited)
