Full suspension on this kids 20" mountain bike, not a bad price for £128.25 including delivery from Halfords via eBay. Use the code PRODUCT5 to get £6.75 off — not an amazing saving I'm sure you'll agree, but better than a kick in the teeth.

The only thing I don't like is the gear shifter. But could live with it.

"Apollo Charm Junior Mountain Bike - 20"With a pretty design on a white frame, the Apollo Charm Junior Mountain Bike not only looks great, it also offers a brilliant ride, with full suspension so you can race over the bumps and not notice a thing (well maybe just a little!), and with 6 speed gearing that helps get you speeding along in not time."

Details
  • Full suspension increases comfort and control over uneven terrain
  • 6 speed gearing lets you race along
  • Gear changes are made easy with the SRAM shifters

Avoid cheap suspension bikes, heavy, don't really work that well but plenty of scope to rust or go wrong
As w0nky says these are heavy and prone to going wrong I bought my daughter a Frog yes it was over £300 but I will get over £200 back for it second hand and her experience will be far better.
A cheap bike is generally a cheap bike and does not offer value.

I understand that you are both bike fans, but not everyone has got £300 to spend on their kid's bike.
Not arguing u should, just saying the suspension on this bike is unnecessary. You would be better off a) spending the same amount on a standard bike that is lighter and has better geometry b) save some cash and buy the equivalent cheapest bike without suspension.

To be clear the suspension will be trash and will make the bike less enjoyable to ride and more prone to breaking. Lovely if you can spend extra for something high end, but this is a genuinely bad product. Best analogy I can think of is some ridiculously high heels that subjectively might look good but are awful for walking from a to b

Okay, but you are making assumptions that it will be used for sports like riding downhill. It is just a bike for a kid, who might want to have suspension because of how it looks. But I don't want to get into a discussion, it's too hot. Cheers!
Nope, this bike will perform poorly on flats, it's heavy and the suspension will make it really inefficient but arguably that's great exercise

But fair enough, looks are subjective and a bike is better than no bike I guess, enjoy the heat

I do get that but a £300 bike is a better deal and offers better value over the term but I do get that. I do agree though that Getting a bike with suspension is likely to cost more in the long term than one that does n9t
I think people are missing the point.

This bike is probably going to get outgrown before it rusts.

It'll be mostly used for wheelies and jumping off kurbs.

Not everyone can afford an outlay of £300 even if they can sell it for £200 later
