Apollo Encounter Hybrid Bike - 21" - C&C - £90 @ Halfords

Halfords running an offer where you save £10 off £100 purchase, which makes it £90.
I believe £90 for a 21" frame bike is a brilliant price. This model is getting discontinued and it is not easy to get. Around where I live the closest store which had one is 25 miles away and it is an ex-display model. But I can see few more stores with this bike being available.

Please double check with store if they really have it! In Sudbury they told me that there was stocktaking error and they do not have it anymore.

My local Halfords offered that they might try to get one for me from the other store, but I am not patient and I said I will get it quicker myself But worth asking if they could do that for you too.

I was only joking again to counter the bike snobs who think £500 on spokes or rims hat are 2.6 ounces lighter is a hot bargain - for a ford ka that is a year's worth of fuel

only because if you buy a £100 ford Ka it'll never go anywhere so you won't need fuel!!

I did the halfords deal this weekend on 2 bikes and some bits and pices for it. So what I did was go to this link:

http://www.britishcycling.org.uk/membership/race/bronze

Sign up for the direct debit and you get the member ship for £18. This membership will allow you to get discount in store.
Next is to get the bike you want off the Halfords site and RESERVE IN STORE. Dont have it for home delivery otherwise you will miss the bike membership 10%

Once you have your card total go to this site and sign up:
https://select.halfordsbusinessservices.co.uk/customer/account/create/

Once signed up log into the account. Only when your logged in you can use the discount.
Add the vouchers to the card to the toal of the price on the halfords site. Once you have them add this code: MCOUNTHal09

This will then give you discount. Now wait for your vouchers (next day special delivery) and items to be delivered in store. Go to store with the vouchers and the cycle card (if you call you can get one sent via pdf to print) and boom!

Cheap vouchers (10% off) and 10% in store!

Also, do you reserve via quidco as you get 3% cash back

If you read closely the reviews for the 19" bike, the're not good, even the 5 star rated ones!

My Fiat Panda that cost £100 did 49,000 miles (took it from a claimed 46k [oh yeah really!] to 96010 before the engine blew - have you done 49k on yer latest set of designer Schimanos?

No. Sounds like a faulty bike computer.

crap bike. my £100 apollo was a total waste of money, unreliable, too heavy and now sitting in my shed rusting.....literally.

Pulling your leg mate...don't bite too hard. Top marks though for that mega mileage...my son did the 2 day London to Edinburgh ride and that was a killer on the stormy Sunday 10th August.

Wow - I could barely do that in a 2001 Ka or Fiat Panda without being boken down halfway - big hails to yer son from Fife (assume he didn't get that far North )

BUT I must assume your son did it on this bike - great testimony/recommendation to it's qualities
