Hell no ... Far far better going on ebay and getting a better bike that will last, and may also encourage you to spend more time on it rather than this iron horse!

You have to factor in that carriage has probably cost around £30 or so, the tyres are around £20, tax is £30, margin around £20, leaving circa £50 to cover the frame, gears, brakes, everything else ... you just know corners have been cut all over the place ...

If you are tight on cash (or in any case) always check out ebay first - you will get a better bike which will be far more fun to ride!

One thing I've learnt from HUKD is never post a bike deal.... it's the most divisive topic.

On a serious note, Apollo is a brand owned by Halfords, and it's likely they hardly ever sold any of these for the £350 that they claim this was originally valued at. I think the bike is now reduced to something near what it is worth as there are a lot of bikes in this price range...e.g.

if thats your budget you can get something good for that. My o/h has a brand new carrera, guy bought never used £100! its stunning. Well worth a mooch locally.

If you are buying from Halfords it is likely you WILL have to take it back to get fixed - their bike mechanics are very hit and miss. Google Halfords bikes and read the stories ...

Also, if you are not sure what you are doing yourself, you can get an ebay bike serviced at your local bike shop (not Halfords) for around £20, or alternatively look on google to learn how to maintain your bike.

A good place to find out what to buy and what not to is to take a look at bikeradar.com ... they have a section in their forums, and the people there are generally very helpful when it comes to what to and what not to buy. You will never see a recommendation for an Apollo bike, and for good reason ...

Good luck and enjoy your bike regardless ... just trying to help

Halfords would never sell any of those for £350 when they charge that for one of their Voodoos which are genuinely good bikes for the money.

I just wish that manufacturers & customers would be honest with themselves. You could get a decent bike for £150 but not if the budget is wasted on lookalike suspension & disc brakes that will weigh more & perform worse than rigid forks or normal forks.
