Apollo Feud Men's Mountain Bike

Popped into Halfords to choose a first big bike for middle child. We had a good look over these at 14 and 17 inch frames. Decided on 17 so he can grow into it. Instore price - allegedly sale price - some silly rpp over £200 - was £129. Seemed a fair price. Went away to think about size. Decided to look online £99 and with their £10 off £100 I bought some reflective stickers to go over £100. Some other brands they stock come with a cost for assembly - £19.95! - but this comes with free assembly and a six week service. I know it's not a carbon fibre super lightweight but for £92 all in, I will have a very happy chappy, and it will be ready tomorrow at 4pm.

i bought this for £129 last year, good find
As a mountain biker I'd say this is a poor bike however if your budget is around this price there is very little else on the market new for this. My advice is save up and look at getting something used for around £200 and you'll be 100 tomes better off. Also Halfords "bike technicians" are terrible they have been known to assemble bikes with the forks on the wrong way and many bolts still loose, I'm not saying all are bad but just warning you after collecting the bike go over it yourself and check everything.
On the other hand, I got this bike a year ago and have had miles of fun out of it. Some may deride it as a BSO but for the price it's great.

Have to say I've never had anything but great service from Halfords bike technicians either.
