I have no problem with a basic bike but that front suspension adds a lot of weight, is unlikely to work well and will probably fail quite quickly. It will also make cycling less efficient if it constantly moves with each pedal stroke. For me the minimum level of suspension is Suntour XCT anything below and you might as well just go for rigid forks. Not forgetting there will be no service parts for that front suspension so once the seals go you have to change it anyway. It's a bike that will need frequent attention and maintenance. The price of buying it may be cheap but your time will have to be cheap too because you will be using a lot of it. Keep cheap bikes simple i.e. no suspension.

Any recommendations for an alternative for those looking to occasionally bike during the summer?
This is a simple bike with rigid forks and basic 1x drivetrain for easy maintenance that you can use the 'PURE20' discount code on.

Don' forget cashback through either quidco or topcashback and make sure your nectar card is linked and check for any possible bonuses available on the nectar site or ebay. There was a 300 nectar bonus a little while ago.

It's really down to how much you want to pay and what you are going to use the bike for. That bike is for road use and light gravel trails but it will be efficient and simple to ride and should be lighter too. You need to be mechanically minded though if you are going to be maintaining your own bike but that's where the simplicity of this bike is ideal, not much to go wrong or need adjustment.
I have the female version of this bike and it's so slow

Sounds like it needs a new engine.

Are you saying you prefer the Apollo Phaze or just being critical of cheap bikes in general?

It may be a horrendous name but whacking your comment on a useful post by bonzobanana doesn’t cover you in glory.
