Great value IMO. Also get a £10 voucher. I was thinking of buying one of these a week ago and they were £189.99. So now £30 cheaper.

Got a 14" frame for my son. Looks really good to me, aluminium frame, with front suspension and disc breaks. Although I expect I'll get a few posts about what I should have bought (just remember to post the price peeps!)

"The Apollo Phaze Hard Tail Mountain Bike is a superior quality mountain bike featuring a lightweight aluminium frame for an easier ride, 21 gears with SRAM MRX 204 gear shifters and disc brakes for powerful and reliable braking."

I was going to get the Matts Merida 40D 2011 for £250 is it worth going for this instead, saving £90?

No, just £90 more will get you a far superior bike. The bike you are looking at is a proper bargain, whereas this bike is only a bargain if you believe the over-inflated RRP Halfords give it.
Thanks i will stick to the Merida Matts.
Apollo :d worse bike .
Agree ^

Where did you find this bike for £250 just out of interest?
Apollo was £289 lol. I take it that was the whole shipments value not just the one bike. These prices that retailers put on their own brand products are laughable and obviously get some gullible shoppers believing them that they are worth it, this isn't even worth the 'reduced' price let alone the fake RRP.
A simple thanks for posting will suffice guys! BTW i posted this as a £30 saving not the inflated rrp (you'll see i put quotes around the was).

Still haven't seen anyone post a link to an equivalent spec bike for £160.

Just been to merlin cycles in buckshaw village, chorley. Im no expert but the bike seems very light and solid and the guy who works there assured me that the components are all decent quality and the merida matts 40D is a good entry level bike. So I bought 2; one for me and one for the missus. Were gonna look like a 2 man cycle team with matching bikes LOL

Paid £251 each because we are collecting from the warehouse we dont have to pay Delivery

It's a basic, leisure mountain bike, go to Decathlon or Edinburgh Bike Co-Op and buy one of their own range mountain bikes for £150-200 and they'll similar or better quality. The one exception is the disc brakes, but then cheap disc brakes on a cheap mountain bike compared to standard v-brakes on a cheap mountain bike don't make much difference.

Incidentally, I didn't vote your deal cold, for the price it's probably an ok bike, better than the really cheap junk from Sports Direct, supermarkets etc, but I still wouldn't buy it personally.

Looking for a bike around this price mark for my lads birthday. Quite tempted because it looks reasonable. No bargain I realise, but as stated above, better than supermarket tat. Just after a reasonable quality bike for him. If anyone has any other suggestions, I'd be grateful if they'd share them. Thanks.

As usual for Halfords the RRP is a load of bull, the previous price was about £190.
