Not because this item is inferior but If he wanted to break out it would take him less than a few seconds as this is only a canvas type materal, so assuming he was deserate to get out im sure he would soon tear through he fabric being such a powerful dog, only good if your dog is crate trained maybe. I have put my shih tzu in it and she did not like it but my yorkie will happiy sit and stay in there.

Sorry, can't help myself. Bikes like this make me sad. It's crap like this which put me off bikes as a teenager - with the demographic of this site I'm sure most of us were brought up on big box specials - they're so poorly put together with such shoddy parts that tuning them to work properly after a couple of months is nigh on impossible, then a year or two later when you take it to a mechanic for a service/repair and get quoted £120, naturally you walk out the door and that's the end of the bike.

Bikes shouldn't be this cheap, they're a compromise and a false economy, and you'll almost always be better off spending your cash on a well-built, used example - or stumping up and buying the real thing new.

I recently got the subway one for 179 new using the code welcome. The code didn't work but when I went on the Halford live chat the rep reserved one for me using another code.

I'm very happy with the bike, had it a few weeks now and used it almost every day for short trips.
Why would anyone want to put a dog in a f##king trailer?
Silly ? Here would it be ok for a 5ft 6 woman? Also I didn't know u got bikes serviced! I've had my last bike 12 years n still going strong, was £65 but it weighs a ton! Just wanting a cheap lightish bike for using probs 10 times a year max.

Maybe the same reason people may want to put a dog in a car, Also one time my car was in for repair and i needed to get my dog to the vets which was 3 miles away, walking would have took me a good hour, by bike just over 10 minutes.
Is this a good bike to use daily, for work and back (~ 2 miles a day) and for longer trips (lose weight) (~10 - 15 miles) ?

Definitely look in the ads for a good second hand one, many people think cycling is easy and get a bit of a shock so end up getting rid of nearly new bikes. Despite what many bike snobs will say on here, Carrera are fine, Apollo, not so good, avoid!!! In your price bracket, the Vengeance is good and often drops to around £200, but not at the moment (I think its in its artificial "RRP" stage at the moment!! :)) or you may be better with a Hybrid?? Pop to a bike shop and have a ride, its the only way to see what will suit you

My dog hasn't learnt to ride a bike yet.
My little shorkie tzu loves nothing better than sitting in basket on my bike, think evil witch from the wizard of oz.
Carrera ok, Apollo not ok.

Spend money on what you enjoy, and trust me you won't enjoy an Apollo,
I just ordered my second canyon bike, i,ve had 6 cars in the last 15 years, only the two most recent cars have cost more..

Didn't you read. He takes the dog shopping.
Have some heat. The Apollo isn't a great bike. But for 100 quid it's a cheap way to get started if your on a budget.

You could use this for short trips to get started and then longer trips once you know what your doing.

If you decide you like it and then punt it on gumtree to upgrade to a better bike.

If you don't like it or something about the bike puts you off, then cycling probably isn't for you anyway ( if you can't over look some niggles with the bike )

If you do go for this bike just be careful with halfords, they done a good job of building my bike, but I've heard allot of horror stories from friends. If you do get it built by halfords, check everything over yourself and if possible get a friend to check who knows something about bikes.

The usual anti-cheap bike comments. I've been riding my sub £100 Vertigo for over two years, commuting five days a week on cr*p city roads, parking it outside Morrisons once a week without the terror of my expensive toy being nicked, and apart from one puncture it's been terrific. It will be a depressing day for hotukdeals if people eventually daren't post deals like this due to ridicule from know--it-alls who don't know all that much in reality.

This is a great bike for under £100 and probably 5 x better than other £100 bikes. It is an Aluminium light weight bike with 18 Gears, most in this price range are steel. The deal is about a value for money £100 bike. You can always get better if you spend more. You will be fine for 2 miles a day and the odd longer trip. One of the reviews said they rode it to France. Great way to get started and upgrade later. If you don't mind second hand then Carrera about 12 months old would be great if you get it at around £100. None round near me though, think they go for more. The ones that go for £100 tend to be few years old so maybe worse option if not been looked after.
I got this model about three months ago, when it was £129. I use it for commuting 3x per week, clocking around 20 miles per week. Took it back for the free 6-week service, no problems so far. First time I've ridden a bike for about 15 years and it suits me fine so far. It is what it is, a cheap bike but for small commutes I think it's fine. Like anything, if you look after it properly it'll do the job. Heat for this price.
For anyone with little knowledge of fixing servicing bikes read Sheldon Browns online help, what this man did not know about bikes or reparing them is not worth knowing, it covers things like adjusting brakes/gears to full rebuilds etc. sheldonbrown.com/

It can carry 66lbs which is about 30kg, so will carry a good 2\3 bags worth of shopping. A lot safer than having them hanging from the handlebars, I have also used a few times it to collect 20kg sacks of chicken feed.

My previous trailer was one of these child trailers from halffords. halfords.com/cyc…ler Had it for many years, used it for the school run and then when my daughter out grew i used it as a shopping trailer until it became very tired looking and the fabric started to tear. Definitely had my money's worth out of it.

Perhaps if a movie featured a dog then dog lovers who saw the dog in the trailer would be more inclined to watch the full film (_;)
