I've been looking for a decent hybrid and stumbled across this deal - £99.99 reduced from £339.99 - seems like a good deal to me. Advertised price is £109.99 but web offer of "Save £10 when you spend £100" should bring this in at under £100.

Delivery to local store is free and free cycle computer with any bike purchased.

If anybody knows a bit about bikes and doesn't think this is a good deal, I would appreciate links to any good hybrids, max budget £300.

Thanks,

£340 for an Apollo ... LOLOLOLOLOL

Have the clocks gone back, is it April 1st?

£100 is about the right price for this pile of trash ... but anyone buying it is going to wish they bought a proper bike.

Cheers for the heads up - any advice for a hybrid I could get within £300 budget which is decent value?

If you dont mind me saying, look on ebay by newly listed under bikes, be patient and wait and in a matter of weeks you will see someone list a very good bike that retails at £400 + but hardly used, lying in garage for 2-3 yrs, sell on a buy now price for £150. They go for more on auciton but sometimes people want a quick sale. For example i bought a 4 yr old Carrera gryphon for a friend for £80 that on auction sells over £200 and is £380 in shops. I also saw an carrera Virtuoso listed a buy now of £150. of cousre i cant guarantee they will be faultless but by enlarge these are genuine items that people buy when they are enthusiatic, dont use, they gather dust in the garage and end up on ebay. Trust ne you will spend half what you intended and get a good idea of the type of bike you want before spending a fortune. Also any good bike shop will service it for about £30

Nothing wrong with the boardman and Carrera bikes sold in halfords, in fact you will be hard pushed to find better spec'd bikes at the same price elsewhere.

Agree with Roccostan, I got a Specialized Sirrus off ebay for just over £100. Apparently it was last years model so was not considered worth keeping anymore. You do need a bit of patience but for the same money as you are paying at a supermarket/argos/sportsdirect/etc for a pretty poor bike, you can get something quite decent.

The Carrera Subway is OK if you can get it for £200 or a bit more, commuted about 4000 miles on mine. Bit mountain bikey but still fast enough and a decent ride with half decent bits on it for the price.

Thanks again for the advice, I'll look into this too. My problem I suppose is not knowing enough about gears / brakes to know a top deal when I see one but watching over the course of a few weeks would probably help. Thanks, I really appreciate it.

If your need some help, take a look at bikeradar.com/for…ms/ ... really helpful community and actually very welcoming to noobies

Terribly over inflated rrp. Avoid this, and the cheapie full suspension bikes from supermarkets too.
