I feed my two cats only premium cat food, the reason being is that most of the other well advertised brands are very low in protein!

Take a look at your tin or bag of whiskers and find the protein content, you will be shocked; especially when you know that cats do not digest cereals ie only protein.

You will spend far more money on these other brands than premium foods with a much higher protein content.

This is the cheapest I have seen Applaws 7.5kg bags, my local pet shop sells these for £65!

Applaws contains 80% protein, the only other food that has more is raw food such as raw chicken etc, ok if you have the time to serve up raw chicken a couple of times a day.

Cats will eat less often with premium foods than the other well known brands as they will be fuller for longer, a little like eating McDonald's for dinner in comparison to a home cooked Sunday roast

Applaws is a complete dry cat food specially formulated for the health and wellbeing of adult cats. Applaws is made with 80% protein-rich chicken and is 100% grain free, making it low in carbohydrate encouraging the development of lean muscle tissue and promoting healthy weight for your cat.

seems great but quite a few bad reviews in last few months about food looking different than usual.

I've not noticed any difference in the food the past few purchases, I tend to order one every 2/3 months

Agree - Cats are Obligate Carnivores!

I’ve fed my cats this food over last 8 years & Vet always impressed with their health......having said that now my cats are Senior I’m moving them over to Lily’s Kitchen as their Mature Dry Cat Food includes Glucosamine, Chondrotin, Maganese & Hyaluronic Acid Essential to help prevent/minimise arthritis

I really want to try this.
Will try and find some samples as my cat is extremely sensitive on food.

I’ve not noticed a difference in the Chicken flavour either

It's best to add a little of the new food to the old food over a period of time and eventually use only the new type, that what I did with mine over a couple of weeks

Cat food has to be edible by humans,
dog food can be any old snot and gristle

anecdotally my sister tried cat food once, and she didn't die.
