Soooo expensive, not going to vote because i am not even sure on the actual value of Apple machines but the way my brother goes on about his you would think they run on rainbows and unicorn tears.....

This is quite a good deal. Well worth investing in Apple IMHO. Better than anything else out there and holds its value very well. You get what you pay for.

I like the design of Macbooks but for that kinda money the internals are pathetic.

I'd rather get the Asus N56VZ-S4242

Surely that's a positive?

hot from me,
ive had my apple macbook for 7 yrs now and still puts new laptops to shame, well worth the money in my eyes(_;)

What happens when one of you specification junkies hears about someone buying a retina macbook pro, do you start short circuiting internally like a 18 month old HP laptop?

My son has this - got it for xmas. It works very well, and very smooth indeed. But is it worth £800+??? Not IMO. Not voting.

yee hah -- I've got this exact machine, paid less than that for it brand new over a year ago!

Feeling very smug ....

Seriously, there is a reason for macbook being so expensive:

Because it's not as cr.p as windows stuff and not every single thing turns into a 'whole day wasting problem'...I'm thinking now and if I knew I would spend so many days fixing the graphics card issues, drivers for the camera, the new version of the blah blah, the new windows update for this and that, the software conflict that required a format, the new soundcard not being compatible etc....I wouldn't hesitate to pay a thousand for these laptops.

Never ever ever going to buy any windows computer again.
