great price!!! voted hot!!! wait for the mac hater tho

Wish the code would work for the new imacs

Great price.

Waiting for the usual stream of anti-mac idiots to pile in.

I'll take 2 cheers!!!!

Great price apity about the GPU they use in these models though.

For each mac idiot there are two anti-mac "idiots".

Is this the latest model? Im thinking of converting to mac

Also any probs with Quidco from Best Buy?

I can't believe my eyes,am I actually witnessing an apple deal that's being voted hot!Well done op

Unless you plan on using bootcamp, the GPU is identical if not better than the 320m used in previous models. Windows drivers are suprisingly terrible even though so many Windows laptops use the HD3000 IGP.

Touch a nerve did I?

great price , and a great piece of kit , i bought this a few months back from currys with a price of around £870 after quidco. voted hot and good find

Great deal on a great piece of kit. 27" Imac is the way to go though

none left for delivery

they have had similar deals for awhile and they never work

bestbuy are a ripoff! when you use one of those codes the transaction doesnt go through. i tried buying from them loads of times and it never worked. in the end went to currys and got 7% off from there

Just a tip.
Last year in the August bank holiday I think it was, they had 20% off everything including all Macs. It should be a yearly event. There was a queue before the shop had even opened and nearly everyone was after a Mac. I think they sold out however Currys were price matching.

You can get the same spec on a windows laptop for less than half the price.

COLD COLD COLD

It has the specs of a 500 quid laptop, and that is a fact.

I think I saw this deal at the Early Learning centre. Your going to have to look for "My First Computer"

No cashback from the education store.

Oh really. Did you work that out all by your self?

Most converts would tell you that the £350 extra is worth it alone for the trackpad, because it adds so much to your productivity and experience. Add on the fact that its one of the thinnest notebook you'll find that doesnt use ULV processors, the best laptop keyboard available, best battery life available, and awesome machine build.

I'm not saying Macs are the be all and end all of laptops, but they're useful for people who want portability, awesome battery life, and the best trackpad and keyboard around. Just because you dont need any of that, doesnt make it a bad deal. Most people who bitch about Macs have a Windows laptop specced well beyond their needs of Facebook and internet browsing and were probably talked into buying it by some random guy at PC World.

The next model will include a Blu-Ray drive. You will see a sudden increase in sales, due to the apple market not knowing of such a thing as Blu-Ray.

MC516B/A: £742.87 using code, nice!

Typical Apple.

Pay a huge premium for last years technology on their 'latest' model!

When will apple release a product thats actually ahead of the game?

Apple laugh all the way to the bank. The accessories they implement into the hardware are cheaper, because they've been out longer. Win win for them. Yet when apple fans see a phone with new things, they brag about it.

proof? interested to see the 500quid windows laptop with this spec, formfactor and battery life.

Pure laughter at this comment. When I've been in PC World all the staff go on about Mac's being the best thing since sliced bread.

Ahem... iPad...

Jaspal989

I wish Apple fans were rounded up and executed.

Find me something else that's cheaper, and will be better for web design. I used to work on a quad core machine with windows 7 pro or whatever it is. I would loose work at least once every could of days. Programs regularly shut down without warning. The file browsing facility is a mess. It took too long to start up and shut down. Updates take ages to install.

That was six months ago...I have since been working on an apple Imac and have lost NOTHING to date. I'm running the same adobe software, so it's windows thats s***. Believe me, I don't like paying for a mac, but its the best thing for the job. For someone who uses the internet, email and gaming a mac is either overkill or useless. For certain professional uses, like design and music production a mac wins every time.

It's a shame you don't get just a bit higher spec for the money though, it would be nice!

This is actually a nice deal, voted hot.

Still couldn't justify the price for myself (Sony VAIO S seems better for the buck), but definitely a good deal for others.

Why do you need blu-ray? If its storage, I can understand, although there are much more effective means of storage out there at the moment.

Seriously, go through the student site, i swear i won't tell anyone. Apple will still be happy with their massive profit either way.

I recently tried every 'Good windows laptop' under the sun, including the envy series, vaios and even a couple of dell XPS and have been forced back to a 15" macbook pro because nothing comes close to it. An i HATE apple, i hate how bloody cocky they are, i dislike steve jobs muchly, but no matter how hard i try, i cant deny these are the best laptops on the market and worth every penny.

Forget the spec, spend the money and enjoy everything running like butter.

Outdated and slower processor, slower integrated graphics (there is no actual "gfx card" present as you claim), slower RAM speeds, screen is debatable based on preferences. Most likely terrible battery life, and the laptop itself is a fair bit bigger, especially at the back end.

Try again.
