I think that looks like a good deal too but only when bought with this.

Would this have enough power to charge a MacBook?

It will charge but very slowly. If you try to use the macbook while “charging”, the battery will still lose charge.

I would recommend at least 60W charger for macbook

I don’t see much point in getting anything over 20w if it’s for those times when you need to charge an iPhone as quickly as possible. I believe my wife’s phone is at around 17w when fast charging. Btw, only fast charge if it’s a necessary situation. For over night full charges just gently do it at 5w or even 12w is better for iPhone batteries than maximum blast. (edited)

The charge speed doesn't really affect battery health btw, as long as it's not overheating. It's what % you charge to that's the problem, 0% and 100% are unstable to lithium ion batteries, so keeping as close to 50% as possible will aid in better battery health

Depending on how long you need the phone to last ofc so this vary from person to person most recommended keeping between 20-80% (edited)

I work at the border examining goods and checking authenticity. These are being sold directly by Amazon so really ought to be genuine. Would be very interested to hear if they are not.

I hear apple are going to limit charging speeds on the new iphone this year if you don't use an official apple charger and cable, anyone know if these chargers already contain the necessary hardware to charge at full speed on those new devices, or am I going to need to buy another charger once those phones come out?

I think you’re referencing them throttling USB-C speeds to apple/MFI cables/plugs. If they even do that (EU won’t be happy) then these will likely still be ok as they’re official apple ones and not third party ones. All speculation of course but highly unlikely they’d go back and throttle their own equipment.

Apparently amazon commonly sell fake chargers so I stayed in the safe side and spent the 19 quid to get it directly from apple

I bought the Anker nano pro last month because of the delivery times on the official Apple charger. It’s got same review score.

Good price but a bit short on power, would rather pay a few quid more and get 30watt fast charging...

I got the Anker Nano 3 which is 30w from their eBay refurbished store last week. Arrived basically as open box but the charger was new looking. Cost less than this too but £14.99 is a good price if you want the Apple charger so I’ll still give it heat

Definitely the better charger imo but the design of this is poor, American style with a UK plug grafted on. This will be annoying to take off and plug in. Add in the shocks.

    Hey everyone

While we’re on the subject of chargers, does anyone know of, or can recommend a good travel charger (doesn’t have to be a beefy GaN 10000w) but at least 2-3 USB to use in North America / Canada?

It’s to (fast) charge 2 iPhones and an Apple Watch

    Thanks

This idea is a shame, Apples haven’t dropped the prices on their phones, removed the charger and they charge you for it.
Rotten Apple and all the companies that are doing this.

They like to make out that the reason they don’t include an essential item that everyone who buys a phone needs for the phone to even work is actually for YOUR benefit - and even your children’s and their children’s!! and nothing to do with them making c£20 a pop extra on every purchase.
