Well. This is the 64GB for the price of the 32GB. Official UK stock is rarely discounted (and I don’t want to buy from eglobal). I have no experience of the Roku 4K stick but the new amazon 4K stick is extra for Ethernet isn’t a box anymore , doesn’t allow streaming from an Apple device and is not Dolby Vision. In my view the Fire 4K stick is a retrograde step from the fire 4K box it replaced. Yes you pay “Apple tax” for this but it’s a quality remote, a quality interface and streams well AND iTunes bought 4K content is cheaper and better quality than most other places. Thanks OP for posting an Apple deal on this site

Hot - nice saving on normal price and a great box to buy 4k dolby vision and soon dolby atmos content on
But where do you insert the 4k discs?
Not sure why this is cold...
Yes it’s an expensive media player. But it’s £20 cheaper than anywhere else (unless you want to order from a Hong Kong importer). Was waiting for the 32GB box to come back at £149 but this is still a good buy.
The 64GB version is just a complete waste of money, it’s an overpriced box as it is (sure the interface is great but is it really worth £100 over an Amazon or Roku 4K device?) but the profit margins for Apple are even bigger on the 64GB version and you simply won’t come close to using that space, you will struggle to come close to 32gb

I whole heartily agree. I only stream media content and the apple 4k tv is an excellent streaming device. I also own a 4k blu ray player, they both have their pros and cons. I'm interested to know how many people who slag apple TV's off have actually ever used one.
180 quid for 30 quid of kit.

No wonder they're worth a trillion.

You can get the refurb one from Apple (manufacture refurbished items are generally of higher quality that the retail ones as the QA is higher) for £149.

And the remote is hardly quality, the white circle on the 4K version helps a bit but it’s still flawed. Oh and as it’s glass it’s not that hard to break and costs a fortune.

4K quality is no better on Apple, infact its more compressed hence Apples minimum net speed for 4K being lower than its rivals. Also due to Apple requirements almost every video apart from iTunes bought stuff has to be converted which reduces quality on 3rd party services

And yes you may need an Ethernet adapter on the firetv but it’s still ends up being way cheaper. And seeing as most people just use Wi-Fi on both its not an issue. Also seeing as most 4K tv's sold don’t support DV then for most DV isn’t any use.

I have had 2, the old ATV4 which I sold and the 4K one and while it could be a great device its more of a problematic device. It’s way too expensive, it’s too restrictive (I have to download illegal copies of anything I purchase or break the encryption unless I i what to pay £150+ for every single tv in my home which who on earth can afford that). Their insistence on only supporting their own video formats also causes problem
If people want to really moan, heres the refurb for only a tenner less from Apple

Or get the 32gb when it’s on Amazon for about £140 or the Apple refurb for £149

Does it appear on amazon for around that price often? That's a good saving.

It goes in an out of stock. Just check the 32gb version on that same listing every day and wait for it to come back in at that price. It was back in stock for example on Friday but sold out fairly quickly
