So tempted! Yes they are expensive for headphones that do not have great sound, however the ease of use and connectivity with these is amazing!

Well reviewed universally but still too expensive for me. I prefer my beatsx

piece of trash. end quote

Tempted, cheaper than apple retail with student discount 10%. Heat.

The build quality and connection ease are great but Airpods were a poor fit for me and let too much noise in.

I've been using the sony wf1000xn wireless earbuds which have great sound quality and bass compared to Airpods. Not only do these stay in my ears they have noise cancellation which is almost as good as Bose. In a device this small it's pretty amazing.

Managed to pickup for £170 direct from Amazon and received mine early a few weeks ago. Their prices fluctuate but have stayed near RRP recently unfortunately. Worth keeping an eye on.

Used these everyday since they were released in December. Cannot speak more highly of them.

Best earphones I’ve ever had! Fit brilliantly and don’t even take long to charge up. Lasts me a good 2/3 days depending how much I listen to my music.

When I’m working(4am-5pm) I usually charge them 2 times throughout the day (leave them for 20mins twice a day to charge) and I can do that for 2 days straight

Supermod

I agree now re the connectivity but at first they were a nuisance to get paired and stay paired. No matter what I tried they just would not connect between devices. They charge a lot quicker than I thought they would and the case is great.

For those interested in these, cracking price. Thanks @legionofwhom

Apple, Apple, Apple, Ra, Ra, Ra ...

(well, very cold from me).

Not the best earphones ever but my go to now for work. They sound pretty decent but all my better headphones are wired and often make head get too hot after few hours. These are great to just pop in and ignore for a whole days work. Just pop in case for 15 minutes at lunch.

Great price op

these are perfect for driving in car and picking up calls, walking around listening to music etc. They just work, the charging up system is brilliantly thought out. I use mine every day. When they first came out voice calls repeatedly dropped, there was a firmware update that fixed that.

Great price for a great product! Even worked with a Samsung S8 I had the unfortune to have to use for a month! Talking of Samsung there attempt at this sort of headphone is really a joke. cex within 2 hours!

I am kind of flabbergasted that ease of use and connectivity is considered more important than good quality sound (or comfort - they will not stay put when I’ve tried them)... I don’t care how good connectivity is if they sound dreadful

Ive seen people with these on and they buy a "necklace" to keep them together?? Am I missing something or is it an age thing I wonder (for me)

Good price if your in the market for some

Wow people actually pay this for these, shocking

Ordered. Thanks OP

Also ordered thank you OP

12.5% off RRP, which is good by Apple standards.

Yes. They sound ok too. Nice rounded warm sound. Ignore the reviews saying they sound like EarPods which are dross. Do they sound as good as my Bowers and Wilkins P3s...no...but I use them to do work in and not be distracted (more background music) which they are great for.

I might be the only one but your comment makes no sense to me. They last you a good 2-3 days yet you charge them twice per day? And you can do that for 2 days straight?

Yeah, basically the pod itself contains battery to charge the Earphones itself

Now the whole thing itself lasts me 2 days straight (this is without me having to connect it to a lightning cable and leave to charge every time)

The part where I said I I charge them twice a day indicated that I can take the pod with me and charge the earphones up separately so I’m not dependant on a main power source to charge both up every time the earphones run out of battery

Now when I’ve ran out of battery on both earphones and the pod, I will need to connect them to a main power source using a lighting cable, this is the part where it’s lasted me 2 days

I really cannot decide between the AirPods and the Sony’s. How big the charging carry case? Is it something that can slip in a trouser pocket or is it too big?

Yes its pocket able. its not as streamlined as Apples case but its fine. The Sonys are measurably better for fit and sound quality but I appreciate this is a matter of opinion and the Airpods are a little easier to use for light listening. The Sony wf1000xn have replaced my Bose QC30's which have been fantastic and I've used them everyday since release but I've gotten tired of having something around my neck all day. The Sonys are true wireless with noise cancellation (not quite as good as the QC30's but defiantly close enough and everything has some level of compromise).

AirPods don’t have noise cancellation because they’re solid units rather than rubberised buds with interchangeable heads. I really don’t like those rubber earphones, personally, and I commute so don’t want to completely block sound out. If you don’t want to do that and you do prefer rubber buds then the Sonys should offer better sound quality. The technology isn’t as advanced as the AirPods in terms of connectivity and usability though - eg they don’t have proximity sensors built in them to detect that they’re in your ear as far as I can tell.
