Which is something I don't understand - these are absolutely hideous. Don't know why people buy them.

Oh yes, 'cos they're made by Apple innit.
Cheapest around atm. Heat.
Value for money on these is absolutely dreadful - products like these are the reason Apple are worth their huge valuation of $1 trillion, pure rip off. Seen comparisons of these against pairs from China and against well known cheaper brands such as JBL and they're more or less the same for 20% of the price. Sadly Apple these days has turned into a vanity brand. I got accused of being "broke" by somebody with airpods for having a pair of wireless headphones from Sony which just goes to show what kinda people buy these
You can get a set of wireless ear pods for £10-30 from Amazon.

It depends what you are looking for. I have owned an original pair since launch and love them - really convenient and comfortable (but they don’t fit everyone’s ears). Audio quality is good but not insane, and there is definitely better out there.
Caution, latest airpods in old case, case is not wireless charging compatible

My daughter brought these other week, she loves them & said quality of sound is much better than what she had before

Great deal OP - thanks for posting

IMO yes.

The sound quality is about 100x better than the wired ones, and they fit snug in my ears.

I'd try and find someone with them and see if they fit in your ears first, but if they do they are 100% worth it imo.

I'd buy them again if they break.

So worse then £10 WHSmith headphones before?
I've got 1st gen and I wonder if it is worth updating to these

I've got 1st gen and I wonder if it is worth updating to these

I wouldn’t recommend - the new version is simply a minor refresh adding longer talk time for voice calls on each charge and ‘hey Siri’ capabilities. A full AirPods V2 is likely to be released with more features and styles either late this year or March next year according to leaks. This deal is more for those who need a replacement pair or haven’t got AirPods yet

I did last week as I had first gen since Dec 2016 and so the AirPods were barely holding any charge. 2nd gen with wireless charging case are very similar - changes are that you can say ‘hey Siri’ rather than tapping one of the AirPods, they have new chip so pair to the device quicker, slightly longer talk time, and if you have the wireless case - wireless charging. That’s it - otherwise exact same experience.
Thanks for your advice and I will wait for the new V2

Doh OH bought them from Amazon yesterday, out for delivery today.
Very good airpods are unmatched

Amazon don’t ship them to Northern Ireland 😬

HELL YES

Life changer if you have never used wireless before

If they fit in your ears like mine they do not fall out no matter what I do play sports, bike, headbang they do not fall out!

They sound really good, light and easy to carry, Amazing when sat in bed with the phone

They are waterproof dropped one of mine in the toilet and it still worked with no problems after fishing out!!!

One of the best things ever made by apple

Watch they are build like a machine

He puts them in washer at 7:13 = 8: 20 and in tub of water at 9:20 = 11:00

But they are not sold as water proof. Loads of people have had issues with sweat etc on them.
Its like saying my iPhone is drop resistant. Just because mine didn’t break. Others could.
They are really convenient and well built for purpose.
My only gripe is they have no noise cancellation or sound isolation.

Jabra Elite 65t are a good alternative. Much better sound and cut out much of the outside noise (with an option to hear outside noise through electronics). Battery life is a similar 5hrs although 10hours extra from the charging case which is a lot less than the airpods.
Fit seems to be much better in the Jabra fro more people. I can’t possibly shake mine off no matter how much I try. They look pretty discrete too unlike the air pods. They pair with up to 2 Bluetooth devices as soon as you take them out of the case. They play which ever is the first to play sound.
How much are these used?

Why would sound quality reduce if they were attached by a wire?

100x better than which wired ones? The crap that apple gives with iphones? I find it hard to believe these would be better than some half decent wired set of earphones for a third of the price of these (solely in the sound quality department).

They leak sound, why would anyone want these. Other than to look cool?
I've been looking for a pair of earphones for the gym. Was thinking about these but I've got an android phone. Does using them with android make much of a difference?

They do work with an android phone but you lose out on a lot of the features such as easy pairing, hey siri support etc. I wouldn't personally recommend them for impact sports as I find they tend to come out quickly (but it depends on the shape of your ears). I'd have a look at the Jaybird X4 or Freedoms - fantastic wireless earbuds for sport imo. I own both Airpods and these, use them for different things.
