Yes you can as I have several times from various Chinese sources but quality is not good and they keep letting me down. Hence this purchase

I use mine with Android after changing from ios, you lose a lot of functionality. No battery check, they don't stop when you remove 1 ear and obviously you can't tap to talk to Siri so I'm going to change them for the new Huawei ones when they're released this year.

I’ve been using first gen AirPods since they were released. I’ve tried others in between and I probably spent hundreds of pounds before then trying other brands. AirPods are *not* perfect - for example my P30 Pro sometimes doesn’t connect the first time I try, but other than that they’re one of the best pieces of tech I’ve bought in the past ten years. My original AirPods were going strong after twenty months until I left them on the train

Things I like (and people’s usage may vary:

1) no rubber stopper. I hate this sort of earphone with a passion as it not only makes me feel claustrophobic but also puts me at risk of ear infection.

2) incredible battery life.

3) very quick charging.

4) exceptional reliability

5) good sound (I use foam earphone covers on mine, and whilst they don’t have the best sound out there, the overall fidelity is really good for a commute.

6) you can use either AirPod on its own, and it works seamlessly.

7)very compact package, again, great if you commute a lot.

I can understand why you might be annoyed if you use those features. I don’t care about the sound stopping when I remove one, I never need to check the battery as they’ve never run out on me yet (I just stick the case on charge at night) and I don’t use any voice command services on my phone, never mind my earphones. Understand your position though, and the Huaweis look like good knock-offs.

Not annoyed as I've had them over 2 years, only changed to Android a few month back after 10 years of ios
Thanks op

I’d be interested to know how the Huawei ones compare. I swap and change between iOS and Android so I don’t think the Freebuds 3 would suit me

Bought a Mate20-pro of a deal from here this July, just couldn't justify £1k on a new phone.

I got the 11 Pro Max on Friday on my upgrade deal. I have a P30 Pro too though. I wasn’t a fan of the Mate 20 Pro.

Worth upgrading from gen 1?

All the reviews I’ve read have said no. It seems the sound quality has not been improved just the chip which gives quicker connection & longer battery life. Others feel free to correct me if I’m wrong.
Hope you lot get a uk charger

You did right to pay the lower price - essentially no benefit to wireless charging with these, they need charging so infrequently.

Yes I’ve tried so many clones now and they’ve all fallen short despite all the YouTube reviews stating “perfect 1:1 copies” so I’ve had to go genuine.
I couldn’t stomach the £199 for the wireless case even discounted on here.
So I went for the cheapest one because I generally charge via lightning cable and the buds are identical anyway regardless of which case you choose.

Anytime!
Having just taken an iPhone for the first time in ages, I’m in two minds on these. My current B&O E8s vs this, hmm.
its 169 on amazon.. may u add that instead of 199?
Probably not a uk version and dont have a warranty

apples warranty is worldwide, so would be valid
bought them on amazon 3 days ago at 169

Probably not a uk version and dont have a warranty

Product comes unregistered, so you register the serial on Apple’s website and it becomes under warranty in the UK. Also it’s AirPods there are no ‘uk versions’ they’re all the same
