I love my Airpods, one of my favourite buys ever, but adding wireless charging is utterly, utterly pointless - nobody should be paying the extra for the new case.

Agreed, especially when the difference is £40, but this deal is cheaper than the standard charging case.
Just when I thought Apple had run out of things to rename.

Doesn’t this make it convenient ?
The promotion cannot be applied....

I really don't think so, they don't need charging very frequently, unlike a phone that perhaps you might juice up a few times a day.

It's almost like Apple were desperate to give something wireless charging (perhaps to help sell the charging pad thing, that never materialised) and randomly thought 'Airpods?'.

It makes no sense at all, and certainly doesn't warrant any extra cost.
I bought the standard ones yesterday using the discount came to £106

Thanks mate, I was hoping you were going to say a standard account
I'm confused. The voucher is said to work on Amazon supplied product and this says it is, but it doesn't work?

Really wanted a paid of these at a decent price, oh well...another day another deal.

You’ll be able to charge them from your phone with the next iteration of iPhone, like Samsung do now

I guess that’s one thing
joedredd13/06/2019 09:09

On the payment screen

Does it give you an error message when trying to apply the code?
Reading the other thread about the code it would appear to be account specific. We have not had this offer emailed to us.

Sure, but again, they really don't need charging very often, I'm sure anyone that owns a set will get my point. And in that scenario, your phone's battery would be robbed, so that would then need charging much sooner.

Totally pointless feature, and not worth 1 extra penny.

I own both sets, the wireless charging is a nice to have. No one needs wireless charging for anything, but it’s convenient and it’s the way everything is going

I have no issue with wireless charging, I accept that some phones run out of charge a few times a day (though my P20 Pro isn't one of them ) but my Airpods need charging about every 2-3 weeks...

I'm mainly offering this advice for people who are considering their first set, and don't know if they need to pay the extra for wireless - they don't.
Could this work with Samsung tablets

Yes, it will work like a regular Bluetooth. Although it does have a few more features when connected to an iOS device.
