Great item - no point buying the latest generation unless you need 802.11ac

Bargain, these look much better than the new ones IMO.

It is a three-year-old design. Apart from wireless ac the current model also offers USB2 and has six antennas for improved coverage. But this is £110 cheaper!

would this be ok for virgin media...gigabit ethernet
.or not..any ideas on.performance ..anyone have this router ...???

Yeah, I've got this very router with Virgin cable, it's really reliable and the coverage is sound.

Yes, it'll work fine with Virgin and supports Gigabit Ethernet. They're excellent routers. Only hesitate if you want ac wireless.

Yes you can stick a USB into this.

Snagged one at £59.99 at about 4am. Cheers OP!

Yes. Printers, and external HDs too.

Only thing missing is 802.11ac which is only useful now if you have very recent clients/.ac network kit. Excellent piece of kit, lots of features. Now within £5 of the Apple refurbished/clearance price......

Cheers, I've been reluctant to get one due to wanting AC which I don't strictly need at the moment but Wireless in my house is poor from the Superhub so getting the old one cheap is fine as I'll re-purpose it as an extender for upstairs when I do get the latest one. Cheers.

Awesome piece of kit, works with my virgin 152MB connection, downloading at well over 16mb/sec, rock solid not rebooted for months

some reviews on amazon suggests that they're getting the 4th gen and not the 5th as stated...

That will probably be items supplied by one of the many third party sellers trying to clear old stock and hoping people will not notice.

I've had one of these for over a year and the wireless has been 100% reliable. That said have not been able to get a HDD share to work nor get my canon mp610 to share across the windows PC/laptops in the household.

These are brilliant devices, i bought my airport express for the same price a few years ago, came in handy when i got a new router which didn't reach my office.

You don't need AC, but dual band N is a must with so many devices on the 2.4 GHz frequency. My speedtest results in 39 Mbps with 2.4 but on 5 GHz I get 72 down. Makes a big difference.

Think it's the same seller on eBay selling for £52.99. … Think it's the same seller on eBay selling for £52.99. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=311087240413

I think Trusted Goods is the same company behind BigPockets.

I've taken a punt @ &52.99
