For a second I thought about looking on eBay for a cheap 6S so I could get a free battery. What is wrong with me!

god must be breaking there hearts to pay for these replacements out of there profits
OP.... thanks so much, mine has been playing up over the last week or so, so just checked and it’s now booked in for next week... much appreciated.

Although, had I never seen this site and not bought loads of “bargains” I could have afforded to throw the 6s away and buy a new iPhone X

Yes as long as you eligible it’s fine no issue
Do they physically replace battery or issue reconditioned 6S?
They were “unable to repair” my phone. Possibly broke something during the repair lol. So replaced it with a newly refurbished one (perfect condition) and a new warranty.
They do say that if they identify any damage during the repair, you will be charged for the repair. Unsure if this is just the battery repair or if it’s to repair whatever damage there may have been.
Sounds good,Mrs,has a 6s

Having a battery you can replace is a better idea. Have Crapple fixed the uneven yellow screen problems yet? So much money for such junk

6 is covered, I replaced my wife battery couple of weeks ago. Kept shutting down. Had to wait three weeks for the battery to be delivered to my local apple store though.

Mrs has a 6s has a faulty home button anyway of getting them to fix that aswell. Also do you have to go directly apple store or can you go to the apple approved affiliate stores. Thanks for any help
Mines isn't eligible
More likely the phone had one of the 'few' batteries Apple admitted had a problem in the 1st year.

It was the exact issue but Apple, some say cleverly, found 'just a few' they declared faulty.
9to5mac.com/201…er/

And if you read the comments there you will notice that only a small percentage of faulty phones got the free battery.

Nope you wrong better luck next time learn to appreciate people work
Well I gave a 6splus. No dice
Been going for ages - had mine replaced back in September. Not such a big deal now anyone can get a replacement for £25. To note - if you have replaced your battery with a third party battery, you won’t be eligible for he free replacement even if your serial number is within the eligible range.

This happened to me as well, said they cracked the screen when attempting to replace battery - my spidey sense is tingling
I had my lad's and wife's iPhone 6 batteries both replaced at Sheffield Meadowhall. Lad's battery was original and been going 3.5 years. Wife's was replaced around a year ago from a phone shop. No issues with Apple getting both replaced.
Getting the battery ordered and an appointment to replace it was a little stressful as I had to go Apple online to order the battery in and when I got email to say the battery was available, I was required to ring a number and leave a message to indicate when I would like take phones in to have batteries replaced. After I left message, some one rang back around 30 mins later to get more details from me and got it booked in for the next day. I dropped it off at the agreed time and both was fixed in the agreed 2 hours. £25 for genuine Apple battery and Apple service is worth the hassle. Both phone will keep going for another 2+ years.
