3460251.jpgHomePod is a speaker that senses its location and tunes the music to sound super wherever you are in the room. With Apple Music, access over 45 million songs, and combined with Siri, it can learn your taste in music. HomePod's speaker combines Apple-engineered audio technology and advanced A8 chip to deliver the highest-fidelity sound. When you add HomePod to multiple rooms, the speakers talk to each other through AirPlay. Ask Siri to play different music round your home, or to play the same song everywhere.

As you move about the house, your music can follow. Just tell Siri to move the song from one HomePod to another and you won't miss a beat. You can also control any of your other AirPlay 2compatible speakers using just your voice. Keep up to date with news, traffic and weather. Set reminders, send messages or have hands-free phone calls. And, control your smart home accessories, from a single light bulb, to the whole house with just your voice.

Requires iPhone 5S or later, iPad Pro, iPad (5th generation), iPad Air or later, iPad mini 2 or later, or iPod touch (6th generation) running iOS 11.2.5 or later. Bluetooth compatible with iOS devices only.

They're not worth it, Gen 2 needs to add Bluetooth and a 3.mm jack.

No one needs a jack these days, ffs what’s wrong with people

You also don’t need Bluetooth with airplay

Boomers mate only understand 3mm jacks
Arguably the best speaker on the market. Great deal, especially if you are an Apple user.

Everything still has a 3.5mm jack, it's the easiest way to have a universal speaker. Also Bluetooth is really easy to have, I have an amp with Airplay 2 and bluetooth, I have a Naim Mu-so with Bluetooth, Airplay 2, Optical, 3.5mm, wifi and USB.

The only reason Apple didn't do it is because they want to tie you into having an iPhone. Also when Apple go "we're not supporting it any more".... than what?

People keep buying into Apple locking them down, then they defend them for it, despite Airplay being worse than Bluetooth 5.

Android fanboy alert. The deal is cheaper then Apple refurb thats why makes it hot deal. apple.com/uk/…-ir
Anyone else having issues in payment section of Argos? It’s taken payment but order hasn’t gone through and simply errored!!! Perfect!
Argos website is now down.
I’ve voted hot, but serious question, the HomePod (which is surely due to be replaced) or the Sonos One 2nd Gen, which is airplay 2 compatible and about £20 cheaper?

Mine errored using a saved card, I didn’t notice that the year was missing, something to look at
I've got one recently following a deal posted here. Might get second one to stereo pair it. It sounds great!

Yeah can’t help but think home pod due for upgrade although it’s one thing Apple don’t need to continue to update yearly as it’s not something people would replace every year like a phone/tablet. So perhaps there will be a new one but it’s unlikely if there is no reports online (not checked). As for Sonos the thing with Sonos for me was at the time they came out they was amazing and could justify the price but now there is so much competition personally I don’t think they can. Personally with Apple you get a well built product that does exactly what it says on the tin. Apple haters imo are just people that can’t afford it.
If you aren’t desperate I’d wait until after the June 22nd Apple Event just incase they announce a new speaker (This was released in Feb 2018)
Thanks OP, have some vouchers from work so £138 shame that it keeps error if at checkout... seems like a wider issue from their twitter mentions!
The rumour mill does suggest a new HomePod might be on the horizon, but with reduced spec, size and price. Get this while you can.

Yeah that’s what I read, I’d prefer this spec.
The only problem with this speaker is that you’ll be happy once you have one.... Then one day you’ll hear a stereo pair and immediately want another.
Noooooo, was reading lots and lots about stereo and sort of promised myself to buy a second one as it’s a game changer (apparently) but didn’t expect for it to come back down to £200 so soon
Only said to my wife yesterday if they fall below £200 I’m buying a third...bought with same day delivery, thanks Argos.

Collecting mine tomorrow, they are open in Sainsbury’s stores
Great deal. Ordered. No issue with PayPal payment.
Finally managed to order for Tuesday delivery! No slots before then
Thanks OP. Just ordered one same day delivery too with the £3.95 charge. Will be my second so looking forward to hearing them both in same room as previously mentioned about stereo. Can’t wait. Obviously heat added

At least on the Apple support thing - I’m currently using an AirPort Express from 2004 that still connects to the HiFi & acts as an AirPlay receiver just fine on the latest iOS/macOS. I’d assume a similar level of support here
The minute this natively supports Spotify, I’m going to be all over the HomePod like a cheap suit
