Must not buy another one for the nursery as 1. I have 5 already 2. There isn’t space in the nursery but 6 is such a nice number (plus Stereo pair potential!)

Apple are the least of your worries with this sort of thing. The reason Siri is stupid in comparison to other voice assistants is because of them prioritising privacy over machine learning. I believe this is likely linked to their opt in analytics that got “exposed” already, if it’s true.

The majority of things done on an iPhone are local. They are also one of the only companies of this size that actively refuse back door access to Law enforcement.

I think it is more the fact that we only live in a small house and with Sonos, google home max and HomePod in each room no space in my case! Good choice though... I’ve been tempted for a while but too invested in Sonos now even if the Naim is better!

She already has the most exclusive speaker in the house anyway with the Hay red Sonos One . The nursery was actually just an excuse for another HomePod! We use this to play lullaby music at bedtime at volume 1. When she’s older I think you can limit them anyway!

On a serious note you are right. You have to be very careful. It’s funny as I bought all these speakers and hardly listen above volume 1/10% as she’s either with me or asleep 😳

You can play any airplay compatible audio stream from your Apple device, Youtube Premium/Spotify/Google Music. You can ask Siri to play Apple Music.

I don’t have one (yet), but from what I understand this is indeed possible.

Thanks to both, how about Sky go on the iPad?

It is very app developer dependent. Sky are pretty funny about airplay and Casting. I think you can AirPlay the audio but not video from sky go.

Just checked with now tv. AirPlay fine to HomePod. Now TV does tend to be more flexible than sky go but bet it will work.
This or Sonos One?

This. Every time. If you have Apple Music or Apple TV or use AirPlay. Otherwise Sonos including if use android with Apple Music. Get Sonos if do that.

Already got 2, should I get more for every room? So tempted.

I assume that you meant “best powered smart speaker under £300 on the market”? Pretty sure that £10,000 speakers are better than this!
I'm not sure whether this will come with the 6 months Spotify you get from buying with Currys directly.
May be worth £10 to some people.

Thanks for checking, I’ll go and treat myself!
Great spot - have been looking at getting one of these for a while so finally bit. Only thing is I ended up getting 2 😬
Finally bitten and ordered. After getting rid of my Sonos speakers (which served me well) I needed to fill the void. I have a couple of echos which are amazing for the money I paid but just not at the Sonos/HomePod level. Great for kitchen and bedroom though

Yeah. I have an unhealthy addiction to speakers. I’ve got a couple of mates who are audio technicians and they joke that I have more speakers than anyone they know

I'm similar to you except with headphones I guess. I can only use one pair at a time, always have a favourite pair, but still keep buying more. Such is the HUKD curse!

Yep and then you start to add wireless ones into the mix now headphone jack is being wiped out! It becomes especially painful if you swap between android iOS and even Samsung within android. Resisting the new pixel buds is going to be hard!
How does this compare against amazon studio ??
Who has a pair of these and a Naim Mu-So? How do they compare? A single speaker I know it can’t compare...but when you add a few more?
I have a Naim but I was thinking to sell it to get 4 Home Pods

Worth to do it
As long as they don't add Spotify support it's overpriced for what it is. Plus Siri is not even comparable to Alexa or Google assistant.
It can’t play Spotify by voice command yet, right?

Alexa play discover weekly is most used command on my Sonos
