Holy **** that's expensive for what it is but I guess its decent for those that need Apple, for whatever reason that may be

Heat from me, it's a great saving over the list price, and in 4 years time you'll be able to sell it for £400. Try that with a PC of the same price!

Are you serious? You can get better spec in a pc for £400 try that with Apple, not to mention price to upgrade or change components for pc comparing to Apple.

Except that's not the point of this website. This is a deal on an iMac that saves almost £200 off the list price, ergo it's a good deal. Your opinion of Apple might be that they're overpriced, but that's beside the point - you're getting something that market forces price at £1049 for £899. They're clearly worth £1049 to somebody as that's what they sell at.

I'd challenge you to find me a PC for £400 with the same specs as the iMac listed with a monitor and peripherals and I also challenge you to try and sell a 4 year old PC that was £900 for anything like £400.

Gotcha Apple. You cannot fool people anymore.

But I still wonder, why it took so long for people to realize that apple have fooled people with their massively overprice products.
Moreover it happens on HUKD where people are expected to be a bargain hunter, know how to compare specs, to find underrated substitute product with similar or even better specs and .

Warren Buffet becomes a multi biilionaire because of his ability and talent to spot the underrated shares. So he got most of his shares at the very cheap price.

Just remember Apple is all in one pc, this type of pc use mobile version of processor and laptop memory ram, it would be very easy to find equivalent pc at £400, not to mention all in one pc for the same price.

Bought a 2010 27" iMac off Ebay 2 years ago for £400. Great piece of kit, but after 6 months the graphics card went wonky. A common problem with iMacs it seems, too much heat inside a poorly ventilated case.

Stripped it down, cleaned a ton of dust out and then had to 'bake' the card to reflow the solder. Been fine since. Vac out the air vents on a regular basis to help keep temp down. A new graphics card, as in 2nd hand, are approx £200. Crazy prices for a very old PC card. No you can't use a PC card without lots of jiggery pokery.

Be wary of all in ones, Apple or PC.

the same deal got 900+ heat here so i was hoping the market hadnt changed much and was still a decent hot deal today. May cancel my order and wait for a better pc/mac deal to come up.

Obviously you can't because no PC is ever going to appreciate in value to be worth more than it cost in 4 years.
