Just reserved and collected this instore. I think this is a brilliant deal if you aren't a student and don't have an apple store near you.(as you can get 15% discount in apple stores only) I used the AWJAN5 5% off comet voucher to get this price. (rrp £1225.00)

This is the better spec version with a 1TB Hard Drive and a Radeon HD4670 Gfx Card.

I also used quidco, not sure whether I will get my 3% cash back but if I do its just a bonus!

Well, I thought the price was good for THIS mac? .......try buying it on apple store!:whistling:
Surely the rating should be about the price and not whether people think the product is worth the money????? or am I missing something!:?

MACs have loads of unique features such as the extra key on the keyboard labelled SMUG which when you press and hold down for 5 seconds injects you with a serum called Essence of Smug which leaves the user with a warm opiate like glow but has the side effect of disabling your common sense.
Excuse me as I need to go and get a fix from my iMac…

I love mac offers, so funny to watch pc people who have only ever used a pc (for any amount of time) preach how the hardware and software isn't as good as what they use, with no frame of reference.

I have both, I like my mac more. This is a nice computer, I use one for design work and it's great. Would I trust a windows pc to run adobe as well? Nope.

I don't click down on every pc offer and say, not as good, don't care about price. If this computer can be found for any amount less than the apple store, its a good deal, end of story.

Oh yeah, Apple also has a worldwide warranty. Find any pc manufacturer that you can take across the world and walk into a retail store and they will fix (I would really like to know, I'd probably highly consider buying their product)

ok here goes...... I am not aware of any all-in-one that:

a) has an LED backlit screen as good a quality as these
b) comes with the same/ better specs for less money (ie HD4670 Gfx card, 1tb hard drive, dual core 3.06ghz ETC)
c) comes with the same build quailty, ease of use, style and support

I mean yes there are reasonable 400 quid pc's to buy but not with the same spec. Also from a security angle, macs are less prone (if at all-debatable) to viruses, therefore saving you support costs down the line..... 400 quid pc's are not made from good components! I used to sell them! I was a power pc user until I saw these.... I have to say, I can run my pc games on here and for web design/software development these are the bomb! WINDOWS 7 AND PC's just aren't the same....

replys welcome.......

You need material items to 'pull girls' and 'look like a man'?

I'm not in the market for a new Mac at the moment, I've got 3! But cos it's a Mac it's hot! Down with the Windows PC!

I'm sure you could 'mod' a MR2 to achieve those things.

well im not going to flop out my diddle to every floozy i meet to pull them am i!

I am not trying to be funny or sarcastic or anything, but just perhaps ignorant.
I have never tried a MAC, but they seem to be approx twice the price of a PC deal for what appears? to be the same sort of power.
So what do I get with a MAC which I do not get with a PC, because if my PC gets slightly dated I can buy a second one and still come to about the same price.
Am I missing something, I am not a PC lover or Windows (Spit) lover, so what does a Mac do any different ?
I am interested to know, why I need a Mac for everyday use, I do understand they are supposed to be preferred by serious graphic designer use.

Such a shame there are so many people here scared of Macs! You get what you pay for, if you want high quality and long-term value, then this is for you.

The problem on this forum is everyone is pretty much bargain hunting to the extreme, and most don't have much knowledge about a Mac or are getting misled, so to most this is expensive, when in fact it's not!

This IS a good deal, plus I don't think the person who posted this wanted a Mac vs PC argument.

Do some googling, there's tons and tons of articles online. I think if anyone starts listing reasons to buy a Mac over PC here, it will lead to even more unnecessary arguments!

Definately not. Everyone has there own opinion and is entitled to it. I just posted this deal to let others know about what they can get if they so wish. At the end of the day the pc that suits you will be different to a PC that suits someone else. I'm just happy with my purchase! :-D

Does that have to be an Apple store or just an Apple authorised seller?
If you live near an Apple store and they gaurantee you a slot within 24 hours that's a great service but you can't beat a next day on-site warranty I say.

Surely the best way to buy a computer is to decide what software you want to run (games, graphics, web design etc.) and then buy the computer to run it.

a) LED backlighting is currently pretty much irrelevant on monitors and many all-in-ones unfortunately do not tell you what type of screen they're using so it's difficult to determine which are TN and which are IPS/PVA.

b) It's about £300 worth of monitor and £50 worth of peripherals. Apart from even more overpriced all-in-ones I'd expect far better specs than that to be standard in a £750 machine. Even one built in a top quality Aluminium Lian-li case.

c) Ease of use? This is an iMac. All the ports are hidden around the back and the stand doesn't have height adjustment. And don't forget the proprietary video output port and the lack of several standard ports found on most machines. If you want ease of use look elsewhere.

They used to have custom hardware but these days they're just PCs that run Mac OS instead of Windows or Linux. Mac OS is about on par with Windows and in fact very similar to it. They're like two brands of car rather than a car vs. a motorbike.

For me the iMac seems to be aimed at users who don't want much from their computers but are willing to pay high prices because they like the design. I don't see any reason for going for this one over the cheaper £970 model, £120 for a 4670 with too little memory and a 470GB more hard drive space is a joke so it's a cold vote from me.

Great iMac deal. Hot!

Macs are the same as PC's

they are no better at design than the PC they use the same software
and with a PC you are not limited to gaming or your own software

when people say mac's are for graphic design it makes me think whats the difference because there is no difference apart from the Huge price gap also with a PC you can replace the components when they get out dated with the MAC you cannot

so your buying something that's over priced, cannot play games and cannot be upgraded in 2-3 years time when your crying over the terrible speeds this is when of course you fork out another thousand for some cheap plastic coating

Would rather get an Core i5/7 for 1 grand.

There are tons of experts here although I thought this was a deal site and that the OP was listing a deal!

Compared to prices on offer elsewhere, for this system, it appears to be a good price for this specific system, if you are looking to buy one. Have some heat.

Here's a little comparison for you, using Reason 4 (music production)

Mac Mini - 1.6GHz dual-core, 1Gb RAM, on-board sound...latency is 16 milliseconds (the delay between pressing a key and a sound coming out)

Acer Laptop - 2.0Ghz dual-core, 3Gb RAM, on-board sound...latency is 65 milliseconds (4 times worse than the mac) and I can't really play anything on it, as the delay is too great.

It ain't all about power...it's efficiency too, and Mac OS seems much more efficient than Windows.
