No they had 5 or 6. Marked as a managers special
Cheers - will give my m8 a call.
Would u pay £500 for a 2 year old PC?. If these are the i3 model as you e stated these came out in 2009. Current i5 models came out in may 2011. Possibly even newer model out in the new year. Sorry, I love the iMac but this isnt a 2YO piece of tech worth £500 so voted cold
Have one in my collection, and although it's 2 years old they are still great and should do all you want, great for design students.
Hot at this price!

Fact is some people might want a mac, but think that they are out their price range and will spend £500 on an inferior PC - and yes I know that you can build a better spec PC for less, however lots of people prefer to buy off the shelf.
Might be old but u cant beat the style of an Imac
Good for a Mac, though if this was a PC, it would be s***!

Think about the number of £500 pcs sold though
My Son has a pre-i3 24" model & it's a flying machine. Beats the **** out of anything at this price. Absolute bargain
I need a teleportation device, where can I get one of those?
It may be 2 year old, but it out performs brand new PC's with better spec.
Bargain. What people fail to see is that a Mac runs so bloody well under lower specs. You don't need top of the line beefy specs that you COULD get on a PC to have it run fast. I've found, most of the time, that these will obliterate a PC of higher spec anyway. Great machines.

EDIT: Furthermore, you're paying for the quality and looks of the machine as well.

This comment makes no sense. I don't think you understand how computers work.

There is no comet "clearance centre" in Partick. Feel free to phone the Partick branch and ask what they have.
Nice price. Hope they all go to genuine homes rather than traders looking to make a fast buck

I think what he means is that OS X can run very fast and smooth on lower spec machines, that along with next to no maintenance required to a mac to keep it running fast (defragging/virus software etc etc)
graemekyuss

You might want to define "performs". Perhaps you mean you think the OS is better than what you might find on a PC, which is fair enough. For the most part operating system is a matter of opinion.

However saying something with a lower spec performs better than something with a higher spec doesn't make much sense. It's like saying my 15cm ruler is longer than a 30cm ruler! Of course, if the CPU was 1Mhz faster you could say it was "better spec" but the performance gain would be next to nothing, but in the smallest measurements it would still perform faster!

*Removes pedant hat and runs away*

EDIT: As for the deal, the spec would look a bit poor for a PC, but for someone with the cash who just wants a good computer, and isn't too fussed about major upgrades, it's a good deal. Especially a good deal for an iMac!

By that logic there are operating systems which out perform OSX. You know that there are viri for the OSX platform?

Sorry that nonsense , £500 notes for Mac at this spec is excellent price. If your creating apps for ipad/iphone, and creating cgi or cad. If you need a mac for your work, its a great investment.

I'm not getting involved, these threads always turn into my dads wanger is bigger than your dads wanger. I was pointing out that graemekyuss's post was problably based around how macs stay hassle free and fast even with meagre specs and no maintenance. That's all, I'm not about to jump into the whole OS X v Windows v Linux borefest. Buy what you prefer, use it, enjoy it.

I'm out.

I have no interest in the size of anyones dads wanger. Simply pointing out that comments, or part of them are senseless.

Fail, viri is the plural of virus.

Oh no. Not another OS X v Windows v Linux thread.

One of the many reasons why these machines may run better than a PC of a better spec, is due to the much lower overheads of the operating system. OS X is based upon UNIX foundations remember.

Fail.

Below: This plural is non-standard, but is used jocularly. The standard plural is viruses.

Pointing out that the argument that AV overhead is for Windows only is false, suggesting that people don't understand the difference between hardware and software performance. Not trolling. Feel free to continue to police threads with nonsensical comments.

Simply your opinion, nothing "official" about it, you hold no office here.
