Seems an amazing price. Whats the warranty info for a refurb?

not that great tbh, it's a 2009 model

word of warning, this barely passes the minimum spec for apples latest os lion

lol - you sure about that?

I stuck Lion on a Mac Mini this weekend with a 1.8ghz Core 2 Duo - runs very well indeed and that IS barely enough spec to run Lion

I tried to stick a saddle on a lion but the lion refused to run

Intel core duo is like 3/4 generations old for £600 and its used.

exactly! my point was that apple has already made this spec, the core2duo, redundant. no chance future osx will support this.

whereas windows 98 machines still work with windows7

furthermore, lion is sluggish and rather laggy with core2duos. so be my guest if you want to pay for something already outdated

Something must be wrong with your Core 2 Duo setup running Lion then, as already stated my Mac Mini 1.8 C2D runs it fine, it's got 4GB ram installed which helps - my main machine is a 2011 2.7Ghz i5 mac with 16GB ram and an OCX Agility 3 SSD, which obviously flies, the Mini doesn't feel sluggish compared to the iMac, although it is slower for obvious reasons.

C2D made redundant by Apple, no it's currently supported.

Just on balance from a core2Duo owner - Lion runs very well so far on my 4GB 2.8ghz iMac. Some people have seen a performance increase and some a decrease. I've not had problems with mine in general, or whilst running CS Suite

I use 6 desktops and the gesture navigation between them is silky smooth.

I've no doubt eventually in the future I will need a new Mac; but right now it is still the machine I use most often.

I've long since archived any PC which originally ran Windows 98...

Though - I'd not rule out the same fate for my iMac even if it doesn't run the latest OS in 2015!

I've still got a 700mhz eMac that I occasionaly use for a laugh, a 700mhz G4 iMac (running Leopard - that was sluggish) that until recently was the other half's machine and is now serving as a media/DVD player in our holiday home (I refuse to pay for a TV license, so a TV is out of the question)

The G4 was replaced with a 17" G5 iMac (Runing Leopard) for her indoors, but the Mac Mini came up slily cheap so has replaced the G5 and was on snow leopard until the other day.

I've got some Windows machines, but there are no Pentium 133's running Windows 7

Really? Let me know when there are accelerated drivers for the Radeon card in my Dell D600. XP is as far as it will go. What you wrote about Lion and C2Ds is equally carp.

Not trying to fuel and fires here, but this may be of help gmabooster.com/

I've not tried it myself as my Dell D420 runs Snow Leopard nicely without it, but might be of use

lol, wish the uninitiated would just stick to old fashioned pen and paper

Doh - I thought the D600 had a GMA not a radeon, so ignore that post.

Did anyone get these?

Would you be able to get AppleCare on these?

If you bought this, see my recent post:
