APPLE iMac MC309 21.5" All-in-One - £899 (Plus further 10% cashback if you're quick?!?) @ Currys (R&C) instore

Found 16th Dec 2011
Only noticed this whilst looking at the Transformer Prime deal posted not so long ago.... and you'd have to be mega quick to get this combo but I can't see anything wrong with it as long as you reserve one instore tonight.

Basic idea is that you do two things.

(1) download the Android Advent Calendar App (which we're all familiar with upto now). Today's deal is ***£100 off Apple iMac MC309 21.5*** You MUST collect the voucher today as there's a new one each day so this part of the offer will run out at midnight. The voucher is valid till end of business this Sunday 18/12.

(2) Topcashback are doing a limted time 10.1% cashback for the first 10,000 reserve and collect orders from Currys. Go to through the cashback website. An excerpt from TopCashBack states......"LIMITED TO THE FIRST 10,000 ORDERS Last Reserve and Collect Order 3pm Sunday 18th Dec Last Collection 4pm Sunday 18th Dec Note: - All orders will track at the 1.5% base rate which will then be uplifted if the purchase has been made within the threshold. Curry's reserve the right to stop the promotion at anytime"

You should end up paying £899 at the till with a further £89 in your pocket as soon as the cashback comes through. I know cashback isn't considered guaranteed until it's in your hands but TCB are pretty reliable in my opinion.

On top of all this, Currys are also doing a £50 cashback promotion too which essentially gives you £50 back on a £200 spend in 2012. Their t&c's state...."Terms and conditions: Not to be used in conjunction with any other offer. £50 gift voucher will be sent via e-mail between 20/02/2012 and 24/02/2012. £50 gift voucher to be redeemed in Currys or PC World between 01/03/12-14/03/12, minimum spend £200. Offer ends 24/12/2011. Please add to your address book or safe list to ensure you receive your £50 gift voucher."

Don't know if the MC309 is actually any good as I've never owned a Mac but it seemed to be a good price for what is usually an Apple product which never seems to see any sort of discounts.

Product details lifted from Currys website.....

The Apple iMac MC309 21.5" All-in-One is powered by the Intel® Core™ i5-2400S Processor and comes equipped with the advanced Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard operating system pre-installed. This all-in-one desktop computer also boasts a generous 500GB hard drive and 4GB of RAM.

The Apple iMac MC309 21.5" All-in-One pioneered all-in-one convenience over a decade ago, but it's never before achieved this sublime blend of sophisticated design and professional performance! The precision-forged aluminium enclosure wouldn't look out of place in an art museum, and inside lies a thoroughly impressive computer.

Sporting a gorgeous 21.5-inch IPS LCD screen with Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution, the iMac MC309 21.5" All-in-One offers a fantastically vivid view of your digital world. All who dabble with photos, video, or graphic design will be blown away by this LED-backlit, widescreen display - but it will also delight movie buffs and casual web surfers!

The quad-core, Hyper-Threading 2.5 GHz Core i5 processor zooms through demanding workloads, while smooth graphics are provided by the highly competent AMD Radeon HD 6750M graphics processor and 512 MB of dedicated GDDR5 video memory.

Apple's famous attention to detail is exemplified in several little innovations that make everyday use more enjoyable. For example, the included Magic Mouse features a touch-sensitive surface to bring trackpad-like gestures to the desktop, while the wireless keyboard eliminates clutter. The FaceTime HD webcam at the top of the display adds video-chat capabilities, and two powerful 17-watt speakers deliver astonishing sound quality and volume - brilliant for music and movies.

The Apple iMac MC309 21.5" All-in-One also offers comprehensive connectivity, including four USB 2.0 ports, a high-speed FireWire 800 port, an SDXC memory card slot, Gigabit Ethernet, Wireless N networking, Mini DisplayPort output, Bluetooth, and combined optical and analogue audio in and out ports. Also present is the blisteringly fast new Thunderbolt port, which offers input/output speeds which, at up to 10Gbps, are more than 20 times faster than USB 2.0 and 12 times faster than FireWire 800. Thunderbolt can deliver support for video and eight-channel audio and easily hook up with HDMI-compatible devices via an adapter.

With all this on offer, you'll be amazed that the Apple iMac MC309 21.5" All-in-One is so reasonably priced!

I have a Mac (for which I paid close to £2,000 and it was the best buy ever). So a Mac desktop (OK not as large screen as mine but still a Mac) for under £1,000 is a steal.
I doubt that today's offer will work tomorrow, even if you reserved today. Sounds pretty risky to me. Great for anyone who already managed to get the 10% cashback and pick it up today to use the code. Who knows if they will honour the cashback when the price paid is different than what went through on the cashback website. I know I have had problems getting cashback paid under similar circumstances
Thanks jackdopson2007.... I just reread that posting but the topcashback site specifically stated reserve and collect which I thought clarified any grey areas which Quidco might have.

Alphamusic..... the voucher from the app must be collected today and is available for use until Sunday (expires 18/12). The TopCashBack site offer runs until Sunday (3pm 18/12) so you're pretty secure. My plan of action would be to buy the mac using the R&C option from TCB with the voucher over the weekend..... wait for 24 hours to make sure the purchase had been tracked before tearing open my new iMac purchase and enjoying my new toy.
The only thing that needs to be done tonight is claiming the mobile voucher. Like I said though.... I'm not an Apple fan so don't know if it's worth the hassle.
