Another apple refurb deal , seems to be on the usual places.

Intel® Core™ i5-2400S processor
Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard
Memory: 4GB
Hard drive: 500GB

A tempting saving to get an apple that's just a few months obsolete.

Seems to be T H I S deal with a chunk of cash off.

Hope it helps someone.

Let the games commence !!!
Not voting either way - last two imac orders i placed were cancelled (this week!), one due to a mis-price, the other due to stock errors, not a fan of DSG at the mo.
decent price, voting hot.
1.5% quidco, too
Possible
Quidco 1.5% - making it 700.88
TCB 1.51 % - making it 700.81

should TCB / Quidco calculated on 749 or 711.55 ?

New ones out soon
Yeah, new ones out soon, but this is still £300 off. They go for more than this on eBay.
Heat added.
Is there any way to get this new 27 inch OOS imac notification when it is back to stock?

Listing for £749

Personally I'm interested in this model APPLE MC723B/A MacBook Pro 15" Laptop for £899 but its showing as out of stock. Does anyone know any retailers who will match the price?
I don't think anyone will match the price of these, and I can't see them coming back in stock. Those are older models being flogged off.

Edit: This is the latest 27" iMac for £999.

Seems a good price

I've always bought 'last years' model and saved a packet by doing so. I used to upgrade every couple of years in that way which meant that at some point I'd 'over take' my friends that had paid a premium for the latest model but could only upgrade less frequently, say every 3 or 4 years.

If that doesn't make sense it's because I'm sipping Broughton's 'old jock' ale at an eye watering 6.7%. Fruity, yet a touch bitter and decidedly off topic. Now for another. nom nom nom

yeah i saw that one too. been looking on ebay but they go for £1000+. with the LAPC5 code this worked out at £950.00, and with 12 months warranty.

so i bought it!

Would prefer the 27 inch but that's a good price.
i5, £700 ouch
If you want a mac, the 27" model seems better value - the screen is great
Not an iPad cold.

Not an iPad cold.

Hilarious
Should I vote cold because I managed to get a current gen 27" iMac for £749?

It's the current model but is most likely to be superseded soon by a newer model but it's brand new for £749. Was well chuffed when I got it.

Was that new? If so that's an insane price. Well, even a refurb would have been a great price.

sorry i meant the one i was on about was probs last years.. but i cant remember what generation they were.. think it might have been a refurb, they were rocking up in brown boxes from memory not the official boxing, price was unreal though... i kept a close eye the next few days to see if they came back or anything, all honoured and there was about 5 total stock from memory

the screens the biggest reason i would like one of the 27" jobbies, but im pretty content with the 2011 MBP i snaffled the other day for £594 from amazon, not refurb
mumbojumbo

The £1649 27" mc814 has a 3.1GHz processor. Is that the one you bought?

Yep that's the one. A cool £900 saving

@joe: That's a great price for a MBP. And people complain about the price of Apple products
The 27" screen is amazing and games on it look great.
I went for the 27" for £950, cracking deal for what is the current generation iMac except for OS version and I already have Lion purchase anyway.

Thanks.
Cold, not expensive enough, so you wont feel smug and cool.

That is a nice ale. I had one two nights ago. I like to use these kind to start my night off as they're quite bold and full of character. Have you tried McEwans Champion? That's also a good ale and clocks in at 7.3%.

Huge ale fan here

I also have in the fridge: Belhaven Twisted Thistle, Belhaven St Andrews and Belhaven Robert Burns Ale.
I am not voting on this either. The 27" ones are a good deal for this price because the 27" ips screens cost £400+ (cinema displays are even more) so you would be hard pressed to build a comparible windows pc for the same money. I don't think you could say the same about the 21" ones. There is always the resalve value argument but I would probably just keep an eye on currys ebay and hukd and wait for a 27" to come up.
Got to agree with the comments about the screen....its just fantastic.
Good deal - I'm still rocking the 2010 i3 and it still handles just about everything I throw at it (Photoshop/Illustrator) - just a joy to use

For reference, I asked Currys whether these Macs were Apple-refurbished and they wrote:

All of our reconditioned items have been professionally refurbished at … All of our reconditioned items have been professionally refurbished at our repair centre in Newark. They are supplied with a twelve-month KNOWHOW warranty, however the manufacturers warranty may no longer be valid if the product was previously registered. Any necessary repairs will be completed in-house by our team of fully trained engineers.

BEEN WANTING ONE OF THESE HOT

there was only 1 so no point in posting sorry, saw it and couldnt say no.. fancied one for a while
Another one who says this is an amazing machine. The screen is simply the best. I've upgraded mine to have 12GB RAM but it certainly works very well with the 4GB it comes with.

The only thing to be wary of is disk space. 500GB isn't a massive amount nowadays. And it comes with Snow Leopard and you may want to also upgrade to Lion.

Ahh the PC trolls. Where specs > logic and truth.
Also, great price. iMacs have always been great value due to the screen.

Then theres the fact that theres such a small footprint, energy efficient, a tiny all in one form factor, brilliantly optimized OS, easy dualboot, and oh yeah, it **** off the PC elitists (_;)

The only downside is that people tend to buy Apple products as facebook gadgets these days. For me they're worth owning for the superior app support. No software on Windows can even come close to what is available on OS X for my needs.

And btw, these wont be refreshed until July / August, so you'll be waiting a few months for the newer models.
