Is this model still supported ?

My kid still plays with Gen1. I also use it for going away to watch movies and browse the internet. For this price, if I sit by the pool I rather carry this with me.

This can be used for other purposes too. Such as taking it away with you when sitting by the pool, with no worries it will get stollen, so still can watch movies or browse the internet. My son still uses Gen 1.
Still have mine, it proved a novelty for a while, but we rarely use it any more, mostly because it's so slow now. Have an Amazon Fire HD 10 now for any tablet duties which is far more up to date, responsive and usable.
There have been no iOS updates for this for years, so a long way out of support and as a result, many modern apps won't work with it.
For this price it's worth considering for certain specific uses as sheffield788 describes.

Just put mine for sale on eBay, Gen 1 mini. Same like you, used only once in a while. Mostly when I go abroad. However, if you're not into games, it is still an OK tablet. Put mine for sale and paid £80 for a refurbished Acer Iconia full HD 2GB RAM to use it for the same purpose. The sad part is I want more than £30 for mine and with these discounts I do not know what I will get...

Got a nice video of my daughter opening one of these, Christmas 2011. Her first Xmas in the UK, after moving from Brazil with her Mum. Her English wasn't great. First year of secondary school. She's in her second year of Uni now. I asked her about this iPad recently. Seems it's practically useless. Apps don't work, it's too slow to do virtually anything with. It is kept purely for sentimental reasons. Can anybody seriously confirm that *any* useful app still works well on this device??

Agree, but I posted this for other purposes, such as watching movies, small kids tablet, to take away when going in holidays. For £30 I believe this is still a great device. I put mine Gen 1 mini for sale on eBay, they usually go for £45-50.

Considering your daughter's age, yes, this is useless now. However it is still good for small kids to play basic games my 3 and 6 year old kids still use it and mine is Gen 1. It is still ok for watching movies or cartoons in the car or plane when going away, and you still can browse the internet. Otherwise, it is too basic. For this price, I think is good for those who have small kids, there are lots of basic apps supported, particularly for preschool to learn letters, some maths and so on.

Only 2 left, despite the fact these are outdated, it seems they are still popular, they had about 20 a couple of hours ago.
