Possibly, or it may stay it at this price, who knows?

But it is good to know that the next version of the iPad mini is rumoured to be released in 1 months time.

It's 179.99 on ebay daily deals

Would rather pay the £229 and get it with 3 year warranty from John Lewis

Agree. But some people that don't want the warranty can benefit from a cheaper price. I personally would choose the 3 years warranty

Get retina (especially for its much faster processor x8 speed)
Only costs £230 new on ebay

I find this lags a lot with the iOS 8 update. Especially with the keyboard I have to wait for the iPad to catch up.

At this price it's not worth a laggy ipad. Personally

no one is asking you to upgrade to iOS 8

If you ever have any problems with the ipad and have to reset it to factory settings through itunes, then you have no choice. Happened to me with an old ipod touch and made it completely useless, took ages just to load a webpage, and if you wanted to use any 3rd party apps you could forget about that, took a minute just to load before crashing everytime i tried to do anything. Apple do it on purpose to force consumers into an upgrade, wheras many people would be happy with an old model if they could keep it how it was when purchased and keep it running smoothly

Pointless getting a 1st gen iPad Mini now, with Mini 2 only a bit more cash for far better tech and also the Mini 3 coming next month.

This ipad has an ancient processor that is the slowest thing on earth.

Why is this a good deal? It's been sub-£200 on Amazon even from way back last year when I paid £196 for mine!

The Ipad Mini 3 is due to be released next week 16th October so the prices of the first Gen Mini should fall further, they are going to drop the 1st Gen & then only make a 16gb version of the Mini 2 Retina, the Mini 3 (Maybe called Air) being the new version with 16, 32, 64 & 128gb versions available.

You really know that? For sure? Because Apple haven't said a single thing about what they will announce next week in their press event.

This tablet is being sold new for quite a sum of money and it's got terrible specs. Original ipad is a thing from he past.

still MUCH faster and MUCH more reliable than 100s of current android models though.;)
I'd personally go for retina Mini, well worth the extra cost and THE BEST in 7 inch class.but this one still a good, reliable and capable tablet considering the price.

This is not hot in my opinion....... Retina for not much more and this has been sub £200 in the past which is an acceptable price to pay for this device.

Its very unlikely this will be discounted more.

Apple do not like to see their products sold off at a discount , it affects the premium brand status they cultivate.

If a Mini 3 is released next week (and its 50/50 if they will, but I'd guess they'll do something to it) then unsold ipad minis will be pulled from stores and returned to Apple. they may be some sold at a discount where the retailer has already paid for the stock, but not many.

I support Android and Apple kit at work. Apple build quality, software support and battery life far outstrips most Androids. Software is far less likely to have hidden spyware and app choice for kids is second to none.

But if you can afford it the Retina version is far quicker and screen is loads better.

I can't comment on iOS 8 performance now, or in the future, but for the time being it's probably worth jailbreaking and disabling iOS updates. Eventually some apps will require iOS 8 to install.
