This is super bargain. 32gb seldom reduced and is the sweet spot. The iPad Mini 1 is, I think, a rotten deal. Apple must have sold so few over past months to dump the price to where it should have been. How can it not be £50 less than the so much faster iPad Mini 2?

Ordered one collecting Sunday 2pm from Waitrose all being well...

Ordered for my disabled daughter Fantastic price especially with the eXtra warranty.
Does anybody know where I can get a Griffen survivor case for this at a good price.
Had the survivor case on her iPad 2 from day one & was really pleased with the cover. Since it had been dropped on concrete, Tarmac & thrown down the stairs besides having liquid & food over it & not a mark on the devise.
So if anybody can help locate one at a good price I'll be eternally grateful

I've used otterbox from day one on all Apple devices, that's what Id recommend.

Where is best place to get a cover for these?

Choosing a case is a bit of a nightmare... there are so many choices between types, then when you choose what type / how thick you then have to find out which are any good, fit well, don't fall apart and then you got to avoid paying £40 for a small bit of plastic...

Personally Amazon is reliable as you can read the reviews, you want hundreds, ebay is very hit and miss EXCEPT if there is a branded case that you find is reviewed well on youtube or a website then you *may* find it cheap on ebay.

I've just been looking and you can come across some 'bargains' on ebay but you soon realise that they are so cheap as the case has a major design flaw...

Enjoy...

There seem to be some well reviewed 6.99 / 7.99 simple cases on Amazon...

Ut oh! Here we go again... Nearly a day after I order for collection at Waitrose Sunday afternoon, I get this. The website was showing 'more than 10 in stock' when I ordered.

We are working towards ensuring you receive your order within the next 14 days and you will receive a notification when this is due for despatch.

Should this still be out of stock after this time the order will be cancelled by us and would require you to reorder when more stock is received.

I presuming you ordered it in black as the silver is still showing as available. I ordered silver because the black was OOS but once you put a cover on it doesn't make any difference in my opinion

Why is this not hotter?

Probably a lot of people are seeing the £249 price tag and thinking it's not value when there are ipad minis around for about £149. That is a mistake. They don't seem to realise that the '2' after the 'ipad mini', as well as the 32GB part, make all the difference. Others are no doubt thinking about impressing people with the latest model and willing to shell out for a gimmick like the fingerprint ID.

I'm no massive Apple fan or even that knowledgeable (I've only bought one Apple product previously, an ipod shuffle), but a quick trawl of the net suggests that even at £149 the ipad mini is not the best deal, given it's only 16GB and lacks the processor and visuals of the ipad mini 2. The 16GB ipad mini 2, if you can get it for around £200, is the way to go if £249 is a bit too much.

Although the website says they are out of stock online, I've just ordered the 32GB in silver from John Lewis over the phone for £249 (free delivery). I rang the Oxford Street store but ended up speaking to someone in Scotland.
Thanks for the heads up, SPG!

same componetry except doesnt have the fingerprint scan, as the ipaf mini 3, same chips screen etc..

great deal.. must resist

I have the Air 2 with TouchID and it is certainly isn't a gimmick, it's incredibly useful and works pretty much flawlessly. The fact that it's the only update on the Mini 3 is crazy though and TouchID alone isn't worth the extra cost.

I went with the 16gb mini 3 from play.com for £250 , this is a good deal though, heat added

Some would say you are better off with the 32GB mini 2 and 2 year warranty.... However, the Mini 3 still seems to be available for £250 if it suits some people better.

I ordered this a few days ago and the 16gb for £199 from Tesco and now can't decide which to keep! I've never had an ipad before and have no idea how much storage I'll need. £50 is a pretty steep price difference.

As it's your first ad you will be fine with. 16 gb I have fair few apps and do lots of browsing etc and 16 gb is fine absolutely no problems. If you take lots of photos and videos then defo go for 32 gb
